We had a horse that HATED men in hats and disliked men in general. Women in hats were fine. For men she would just reach over, grab the hat toss it in the air and then tromp on it.
I wonder if how a dog is raised has anything to do with it? My pooch thinks everyone loves him and has no isses with someone in a hat - of course that may be because folks have been wearing hats around him since he was a pup.
I have a modern fedora that has very soft fur felt - soft enough that it is difficult to get the hat off my head by using the brim (with one hand, two it's no problem) It molds well and feels very comfortable. Is this level of softness correct?

I just picked up a Scala Milan in fur felt with a suede finish, snap brim with underwelt. Other than the fact that the liner is glued in instead of sewn in I can't find many faults with it. It fits nice and looks good. The felt is a bit softer than I expected (ebay purchase-for very cheap).
