    Color Footage of the Blitz

It was a strange thing to view. I greatly admire Churchill, and I found Professor Rufus Fears' set of lectures on Sir Winston which is available from The Teaching Company to be essential stuff. You WWII scholars might want to investigate it.

The Fourth Tower of Inverness (1972) "High atop a mountain, above the pines and mist that surrounds the bay of Inverness, there stands an incredible mansion. Its three towers appear to pierce the sky, its windows are like a thousand eyes turned inward, and its doors, hinged on time, open into...

Nutria felt in the modern day

Part of a larger plan ? The little nuisances made great, high-quality hats. I just don't own one, except maybe in a blended felt. Who knows ? Between the Louisiana nutria, the foreign snakes in the Everglades, and the non-native possums in New Zealand you could end up with an outfit made...

    What's a good old antenna

I'm only doing these for me, and a careful "by ear" is usually plenty good enough. I do have the alignment instructions in hand when I do this. And, I must confess to using the instruments now and then. As to antennas, only the truly insane would try to use a terminated coaxial cable...

    What's a good old antenna

It looks like the consoles of just a bit later, still pre-war, had the electrostatically shielded Wavemagnet loop built in. The pictures and narrative I found here do not show such a device, nor any provision for one : http://www.tuberadioland.com/zenith12-s-267_main.html (Correct me if...
