"Mad Men" on AMC (US) - (Spoilers Within)

Was great. I think she will replace Anna as his 'female' bestie and seeing ghost of Anna was like she was giving Peggy permission to 'to an eye on him'. He and Peggy are both loners and understand one another.

Quite amazing to see. So much detail in colour that you miss in b/w. Their hair colours, makeup, clothing. Wonderful. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J_RTnd3Smy8

This is quite amazing. A 1920s screen test in colour which is a rare thing indeed. We can see how the ladies wore their makeup, clothing, hats etc. Quite stunning. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J_RTnd3Smy8

I am curently making this dress and its hangs well despite being cut on the straight grain. I think it will hang well with the right fabric Miss1929. I wouldn't use cotton for it though as it specifies linens, crepes, silks etc...things that will have a nice drape. I am using a navy linen which...

"Mad Men" on AMC (US) - (Spoilers Within)

Last season was a slow starter, as I have said before here. I'm enjoying it regardless and think they are building things up slowly. I think saying it 'sucks' is bit muchwhen you compare it to the other crap that is on TV at the moment. Roger's reaction was so typical of the era too. I...

    Hourglass figure

I am 38-31-40. No jeans ever fit my waist, well back when jeans were at the waist. It was always such a pain as I'd have the loose back all the time.

Went to an antique fair this weekend and got a few things. Late 30s felt tilt hat. The amazing thing is that the veil is totally perfect. I love the contrast of the pink flower. Also got a bunch of 30s pins and brooches. Top one is wooden, one is shell the other is celluloid. Cool old...

Got this at an antique fair yesterday. Cool playsuit/jumpsuit pattern. Size 34, about 1939 but too small for me, but I know someone will want it so I will probably sell it. "Pauline" patterns were Australian made and you only see them come up now and again.

    VJ Day

Yes, the Rape of Nanking...absolutley dreadful stuff. But then again, Stalin was just as bad as Hitler when you really study WW2 in depth. Killed Poles, jews, gypsies and his own Russian people by the millions. Wiston wasn't much better...as he remained allies with Stalin and turned a blind eye...
