I know! I just had a mishap in the haircut department, and I would've loved this photo to take in. It really shows the U-cut well; it looks pretty much exactly like my hair when I got a *good* vintage haircut.
I was looking through those Life images on Google, and found this great shot of the back of Veronica Lake's hair. This would be great for someone to take in to their hairdresser:

What's your *favorite* period, or your two favorite periods? First off is to determine which era you want to inspire you most. I've got nothing against era-mixing, but if you're tight on funds and fabric, you'll want to choose things that work well together, and the best way to do that is to...
I like my coffee adulterated with milk, sugar, and chocolate. :) Basic procedure is to fill a cup with hot coffee 1/2-3/4 full, stir in 2 TB sugar and 2 TB cocoa, stir it so it's all dissolved, and fill the rest with milk. Sort of a hot chocolate/coffee combo.
If I have whip cream on hand...
We're definitely paring back this year. Everyone's drawing names, so each person will get a gift but no one's obligated to buy separate gifts for everybody.
I think we don't realize how good we have it sometimes. The sheer amount of nice things we often get is probably on the level of a...
Mysteries are good for hotel rooms. :) You might have an easier time finding (newer) paperback copies on Ebay, though - the A.A. Fair stories are *really* difficult to find at the library!
I've been reading a bunch of 1940s mysteries by A.A. Fair/Erle Stanley Gardner, and hotel rooms crop up frequently. Unfortunately, I returned most of the books to the library already, but I still have a couple. So far, every hotel room had an attached bathroom. :) I'll see if I can find...
*Noooooo!!!!*
*wails inconsolably*
I wish I'd heard about this sooner; I'd have gone to the store and bought some. I loved these as a kid. Maybe the grocery store still has a bag left? *hopes*
:) I agree - wear what you love. Some Regency outfits could make anyone look pregnant (to modern eyes, anyway), but that doesn't mean you shouldn't wear them!
That URL is weird - it isn't working for me, but it *should* be working; I got to it in a roundabout way. Try this one:

How about "Come again?" - posed as a question, meaning "Would you repeat yourself?" I've used it sometimes over the phone, and people go, "Huh?!"
I still hear "junior high" all the time. "Middle school" always sounded weird to me.
This is true; I've fallen into that trap myself.
Here's my philosophy: I like being able to call from anywhere, and I like to be notified about a call, just in case it really is urgent. But, I don't really want to be available to everyone all the time. Simply because I have a cell phone...
Cool? I'll say! I love finding things with history, especially books. Which reminds me, I found a thrift store book (The Echo of Greece by Edith Hamilton) packed with goodies: A daily schedule from one of the SS Rotterdam's cruises, dated October 15, 1969; A business card with pressed "real...
Let's play "spot the sentences that don't involve grammatical errors", shall we? :eusa_doh:
I miss where it's called "The Stage Door Canteen" - I'm just seeing "Hollywood Canteen" on the site. *yucky* I can't believe it. I wonder how on earth they got the name? Supposedly (and I quote)...
