My Grandfather was as working class as you can be. He NEVER left the house with out a hat on his head and it was always a fedora. He got a new every year on his birthday and at Christmas.
1988
My wife and I were on our honeymoon in August of 1988. We went into the Bandana Republic store in Washington DC at Union Station and they had most if not all of the store stock on sale at incredible discounts. I'm talking 50% or better on all stock. When we asked why the sell down we were...
My father was a B-24 Liberator bombardier. He enlisted in the USAAC on November 21st 1942. He did his training in Missouri, Texas, Massachusetts and New York. He was assigned to Pantanella AAB 464th bomb group (heavy) 777th squadron. I have his war time memoirs that he type for the family and I...
I guess that I was too vague or general in what I am looking for. I have the fieldwork wardrobe well under control. In fact I spend most of my time either walking to class going to the grocery store to my sons school activities etc. Winter is the season that all of the professional conferences...
I have a fairly long walk form where I park to class and in winter here it is wet and cold and windy. I will need this new jacket as an all around type garment. For fieldwork I wear canvas work cloths mostly. They are durable and fairly cheap. I prefer a waist length jacket but a 3/4 length is...
I have a jacket dilemma. I am hoping that some of my fellow loungers can help with some ideas. Here is my quandary. I am an Archaeologist and I do field work. I have had a love of hats and fedoras long before becoming an Archaeologist. As you can guess I get a lot of grief for even wearing a...
Thanks I think so too.
I don’t mind paying for quality and size. Not all my buys on eBay are steals but when I see a $120.00 hat for that price I jump on it.

I can't!
I can't send you a message, as I don't have sufficient privileges. Send me an email at appstateangler@mindspring.com and I will send you the total with shipping and my paypal info. Yes it is all fur felt and it has a 2" brim.
I have been told that it is possible to stretch the hat to a 7 1/2. I have never tried it but it should be possible. If you want that hat it's yours just let me know.
Hats in my Family
My Great Grandfather is standing on the right and my Grandfather is next to him holding the dog. This picture as taken in California sometime in the 1930's

I have worn this hat once yes once and I don’t care for the way it looks on me. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this hat I just don’t care for it that’s all. The hat comes with its hatbox and feather and pin that I took off and put into a plastic bag for safekeeping. You can either leave...
I am selling some "extra" hats at what I think are very fair prices on eBay. Please have a look and let me know if you want one and I will make FL arrangements.
