I blogged about it here. A great video as reference. One of the best I've seen for recreating authentic waves.
1930s hair
Wonderful video and very authentic 30s waves. This shows exactly why most women in the day had their hair set in salons weekly, maintained it themselves at home but then...

I think hair is very much what makes a 1940s look - 1940s. Without it, the look can't really be pulled off. Personally, I'm not a fan of taking inspiration from pin-ups because they weren't how everyday women dressed at the time. In the day, no woman wanted to be associated with calendar girls...
Good to see ladies speaking out. People have been programmed to steer away from difficulty or controversy these days. Doing the right thing is not easy and stressful, but many people only care about themselves. I don't have a lot of tolerance for those with a 'victim blaming' mentality and who...

Yes.
I don't post in FL much any more either, and I am long time member too. I would be the first to say that in my 'actual' life that many of my closest friends are male, but they are not sexist or misogynistic in any way, unlike some of the men here. Most men at FL are NOT like that of...
I met Jon in 2010 when I went to a FL event on the Queen Mary and we kept in touch on FB after that. He was lovely to me while I was in LA and really was a gentleman. So sorry to hear of his passing. :(
I am a 1930s gal but I am not a fan of the huge jabots and bows of the mid 30s. I love and wear flutter sleeves often but the extreme flouncey bows are not for me. Thankfully, they were only one of many styles during the era :)
Sadly, the costuming is not particularly correct...even in series 2. As an Aussie, I was excited to hear this series was being made a few year ago, but after a few eps I was meh. There are many vintage experts and collectors of 20s clothing here in Australia (Mojito being one of them) that could...
