Article: Why do People Hate Hipsters

But...but...the still and tobacco is the best part! :D

    World’s oldest champagne uncorked

Color my neck red but what would make even wine worth 70k a bottle beyond status...? Does it, you know, grant powers? (I have a superhero outfit ready to go, by the way, with a mask and a hat and everything...) Because I think at that point, you're not doing it for the taste. Surely there's a...

    Vintage Fonts

I like Betty Noir from Blambot.com, which is free, which is always nice. I also like Thirteen O' Clock, also from Blambot, but it's earlier-style.

If you had a chance to travel through a TIME MACHINE for a WEEK? where would you go?

What if I just want to go back in time and shake the hell out of myself at age 14, is that going to shred the timeline and create a paradox?

    Diner mugs

Could you do a stencil with ceramic pen? There's pens for writing on china where then you bake it on in the oven. It seems plausible, if your design isn't too complicated.

I have always adored Eartha. I think she was just incredible. Truly stunning woman.

If you could take only one hat

A broad-brimmed ladies' hat be dressed down for the beach or up with a ribbon and pin very quickly. It can even go fairly formal with the right ribbon and a brooch. I think straw might edge out felt, but just barely. Best in gray, if its felt.

Time Traveler spotted at the 1928 Chaplin film "The Circus"

You're champion, mate!* *All of my attempts at going local range from pitable to unrecognizable.

    Golden Era Christmas Tree decorations??

First Christmas ever*, so I'm new at all this. If I had done it since I was little I probably would have more idea of what to do, or could draw on memories of Grandma's or whatever. I'd probably also have a big box of stuff already, I'm the type who hoards glittery things. :) *I have been...

True Grit - the Dude redo the Duke

True Grit has been one of my favourite westerns since I was about eleven (...before that, I was angry the pony died...) and I am guardedly optimistic, based on that trailer. I like the soundtrack, too.

Philadelphia, yknowwhaddImean? Weather - 5. Do you like two feet of snow? How about 100% humidity and hundred degree summers where people drop dead? WE GOT BOTH, SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE. Architecture - 1. Pretty awesome, and the late period stuff still mostly scrapes in for fifties-sixties...

    Your Favorite Sandwiches?

I checked Woolies. No love. Did find tortillas, though. Which made me pretty happy. I made Highly Inauthentic Chili the other day and it came out pretty good. Do burritos count as sandwiches?

    Vintage Town nominees

My parents live in a trolley suburb (...I happen to just like that phrase, trolley suburb) and what passes for a main street of it is still: An Irish bar, the firehouse, a corner store, drycleaner/alterations, a sign painter, shoe repair, ice cream parlor, pizza parlour, and a gas...

If you had a chance to travel through a TIME MACHINE for a WEEK? where would you go?

I'd like to go back and see how many of my lundsmen and kin-of-kin could be gotten out. So many of them knew it would be bad, but not how bad. Or thought they DID have to run, but ran to France and thought that was far enough. Without a lot of money I don't know what could be done, though.

For the Gentleman / Ladies of slighter stature.

That's what I told a guy who was being kind of unlikable about female war reeinactment - I told him I was a lot more authentic to that particular era than he was! (He was 6'2", 250 lbs, capped teeth...)

I beseech all my fellow townfolk to consider the plight of those who do not have '47 Caddies... remember the pedestrian! I want to roll around in a classic Buick as much as anybody but I really adore classic, walkable towns. I never realized how spoiled I was until it was gone. I do not...

    Golden Era Christmas Tree decorations??

This is my first Christmas, ever, and my hubby's first Christmas as far as his own tree and stuff, so we're setting up what we want and how we're going to do it. We have a tree, and he found a box of the kind of lights he wanted (he's a purist so there was lots of "well not THOSE" and "that's...

    Your Favorite Sandwiches?

Everyone tells me there's tons in Melbourne. But that's like eight hours away which seems like the sort of thing my husband would require more explanation for than I WANT A SAMMICH.

    Your Favorite Sandwiches?

I've not had brains... tongue is SO good, though! And chopped chicken liver is IMPORTANT. I could never convince my friends of the merits of chicken gizzards/hearts, though. Or beef heart. Kidney is not as good as heart. EDIT for crossposting: It's a unit in Leumeah which is just outside...
