The dress looks like it's from the 50s-60s decade turn, my favorite turn ever! The bow detail feels more mid-60s though, which I love just as much!
You look stunning in the second pic as well, with pale lips and smoldering eyes.
A propos knees: I used to be a "below the knee girl", but now that I've fallen head over heel for the sixties, up the hem goes! However, I agree with RodeoRose, this particular dress isn't cut to be that short, it looks out of proportion now. I'm surprised a designer wouldn't be sensitive to this.
It's true the fabric is thin and the dresses aren't lined, but atleast the price is based on that. I've bought repro clothes (from Tarantula for example), that were just as bad quality, but still super pricey! I have this dress
in black and red, and with the right accessories it looks very...
I can't believe someone dared put a scissor to it and take away more than half of the dress! At least if they'd let it hit beneath the knee it would still have some harmony left. Alas!
Odalisque that's funny, I just bought a 70s skirt thanks to it's bold, over-the-top print. I LOVE yours!
Darhling, a children's book?! Tell us more!
Miss Tuppence, you put the S in sweet!
I love when the ladies post in this thread!
Thanks everyone!
BD you look lovely. I find the warm weather makes me long for color and pretty clothes more than ever! I never want it to be winter again!
^Thanks bellabella! I think it's interesting to see how I've gradually moved from the forties to the sixties over the past years. I still wear my favorite lipsticks though!
For the record, Mac's Ruby Woo doesn't suit me! My favorite red lippy is Bésame's Bésame Red, a perfect true red. It's the red I wear when I'm in the mood for RED, not pink, brown, berry or orange. Bésame Red goes with everything, no matter what color you wear! I love it! I wish I had a better pic:
