Thanks Sam. Thanks Andy - we have a much smaller Hasidic population than the US which may make a difference. I don't know what the percentage of black to other colour hats is over here, but I'd be surprised if it wasn't at least 70%. Looking good Perry - muggy and showery here. -

Is this an authentic '20s/'30s Fedora?
UK manufacturers often used thinner sweats - but I've seen similar sweats on UK hats from both the 30's through to the late 50's so it doesn't really help. There's nothing about the hat that rules out 30's manufacture but short of finding out George Chadwick ceased trading in a particular year... -
Is this an authentic '20s/'30s Fedora?
Very difficult to date - it could be anything from 1930's - 1950's. Is there a union stamp under the sweat band, and is there any sign of the original liner? It's not a hat company I've come across before. -
