What Hat Are You Wearing Today 1?

Dale - I really like that Empire state Justin - nice cap. Good to see you on here again. Monte - that Williams Homburg is a beauty, and not a company you see much of. Charlie - I like that MK custom. The green grey looks good with that ribbon. Lovely Tumwater David - I'm still on the lookout...

    I love the Fed IV!!

It's basically shapeable without steam, but a little steam holds it better. Shaping the crown is easy, but to get the brim curl it needed a little more work.

    The Bowler or Derby Hat

A bit more research - that style of logo was in use in the 60's - it changed early 70's. So it's definitely not newer than very early 70's. I did a trawl and there's the same model from an ebay auction that comes with the original box, and that certainly looks late 50's/early 60's so 57 is...

    I love the Fed IV!!

Yes stock bow, and they're only a few months old so no felt fade.

    I love the Fed IV!!

This is a pretty colour accurate shot of mine: and Moonstone: Both are the standard imperial quality.

    The Bowler or Derby Hat

OCMH - If someone had asked about putting a coloured ribbon on a bowler I'd have said it wouldn't work, but you've shown it works pretty well. jhe888 - I think the bowler is a bit newer than 57 from the Harrods logo (early 70's?). As to who made it for them I'm not sure - they've used several...

Which hat for a Noir Movie ?

I'm rarely humble ;) Sorry Camile I should have been more explicit. I don't own one, but I've handled one and wasn't impressed.

    The Cap Faction

Photos of the Earland 'Bugatti' cap that arrived late last week: Earland are hat shop rather than hatmakers. I don't know who supplies their other caps, but from the tweed pattern code on this one it's almost certainly made for them in Manchester by Failsworth. Nicely made anyhow. I like...
