Angel is made by Thierry Mugler and was created in 1992- it's fragrance notes are Chocolate, Vanilla, Caramel, Berries, Honey, Bergamot (and lots of patchouli) - it's not for everyone but anytime I smell it on someone else I just love it. Think I may have to invest in a bottle of the EDT...
Miss Sofia - you're looking fabulous!
Your shop looks like the kind of place I would love - loads of quirky things to look at and you never know what you'd find!
Flowerbomb is probably the sweetest fragrance I have ever worn - I can see how some may find it a bit cloying - in fairness I have to be in the mood to wear it and it's not one that I would wear quite often but I do like it. I also like Angel (the EDT is much lighter) but haven't bought it yet...
I couldn't resist this psychedelic Jean Patou silk scarf:
This lovely 60's coat:
A pretty rhinestone brooch:
When I was in France I bought a beautiful 1950's dress at the famous market in Nice - the seller said it was couture and a copy of a Chanel (whether this is true or not it...
That's one of my favourites - roll on Winter so I can start wearing all my heavier fragrances. Anything with patchouli is usually a winner for me - Midnight Poison, Coco Mademoiselle, Pomegranate Noir, Acqua Di Parma Magnolia Nobile, Flowerbomb....
Ginfizz - thank you! Can't wait to start looking at kitchens, bathrooms and furniture - a project I am very much looking forward to!
Miss Sofia - thank you too! That's such a shame about your fireplaces being ripped out - I just don't get it! Although I suppose certain fireplaces are quite...
Frontier(s) - I was looking forward to seeing this French horror for a couple of years (the same people made the terrifying Haute Tension) - finally watched it last night and it was good but not that scary or shocking.
Apparently this is one of the worst shampoos you can use as it coats your hair in silicone. I used to use it and I have pin straight hair and it became so full of static - awful. I ended up using one of those shampoos that clears all residue from your hair to get rid of the build-up - now I...
Oh my....I'm sorry I had to laugh a little when I read that - that is unbelievable. Her poor little boy - although in fairness I was watching Jamie Oliver's programme and he showed some kids in a class an onion and asked them if they knew what it was - some were clueless and one poor kid...
Seems to me if guys were in that HE class a lot of cakes would have gotten burnt on all sides......
I think Space Math would have been the death of me ! Me and maths are not pals and would be my ultimate nightmare subject.
Kamikat - Ah, I see what you mean - I don't think things are...
I would love to be able to do a lot of the things those ladies we able to do - to be good at ironing (my Gran was brilliant at it - could bring a pretty tired outfit back to life), sewing (my skills are limited), to be able to follow a pattern etc. I wanted to do Home Economics in secondary...
I gave up a very good job when I had my daughter and don't regret it for one second. I have yet to encounter someone looking down their nose at me for giving up work - for me this is my choice after all for me this is what feminism is all about - choice - a shame that a lot of women do not...
Thanks for letting me know Paul - I have done a thorough clean this time!!!!!!!!
I love seeing the outfits that float peoples boats - the decades, the style, the fabrics people prefer. I know Marilyn et al has a lot more cash than probably all of us here but that's the joy of vintage - you...
Oooh thanks for that! I can't wait to see her full collection - I'm sure it will be fabulous!
On a separate note I used to love going into David Jones in Sydney when I lived there - I couldn't afford much but it was such a lovely place to shop!
