This is my maternal grandfather, in either 1949 or 1950. What kind of jacket is this and where can I find one like it:
And also, same man (my grandpa) in 1972. What kind of jacket and shirt is this:
Also, my maternal step-grandfather in 1973: Where could I get a shirt like that?
Is it normal for the liner or sweatband to buckle at points? My hat's sweatband is buckled in to spots, and I can feel where it portrubes out a bit whenever I wear it, which causes a very slight discomfort and annoyance.
Well, my only true fedora is a gray fur felt Miller and the size is 7 3/8. It's only a little big and sometimes flies off in wind. I have a more ''modern'' style trilby which is much smaller and is a snug--a bit too snug--fit, but I don't know the size. The tag inside is missing.
Can someone give me links to where I can find photos (from anywhere from the 1880s to the 1960s) of average, regular people wearing hats? Fedoras, Top Hats, Derbys, just actual vintage photos of people wearing em. And also of presidents. That'd be greatly appreciated.

Would you guys reccomend this hat?
Also, where else can I find some cheap fedoras?
Since there's a thread on vintage family photos, I figured I'd make a ''Modern family photos'' thread, which would constitute photos from 1970-present; If you're interested.
My grandfather would've been one of those men, except not drunk. He, like me, loved the OTB. He even had a telephone account, used through a credit-like card called the "Gold Card." OTB was created in 1970 and my grandfather passed away in 1975, so he must've gotten it right when it first started.
Hey
I decided to go for a walk wearing my fedora. It was my first time in a while wearing it outside. It wasn't so hot out, and there was a light breeze and yet it caused my head and forehead to sweat. I have a gray fur felt fedora, like the kind Bogart wore. Why would this happen, even with...
Some of you may have seen this, if so I apologize, but for those who may not you may enjoy seeing this too:

That's a New York City Street in February 1932. Note that literally every man (except two) and even some of the women, on the street have one...
Is fedora-wearing coming back into style? I've seen a lot of celebrities and one or two kids (my age, 16-18) wearing them. I was wondering if you people thought I'd look too weird wearing my fedora since I'm 17.--It's a gray Bogart esque fedora. Do you wear yours outside or casually?
I dont have a report or anything, I'm just very, very interested in the culture of the twentieth century, especially from 1910-1970 and how it changed very rapidly.
Hi!
I know this is for the '30s and 40s but I have a question: how were the '50s-1964 like the '30s and 40s and how were they different? What was the atmosphere, and culture like from 1946-1963, and how did it change over time, and what were popular trends, clothes, fashion, movies and music...
Can anyone give me some history of the Fedora; for example, when did they first become popular, when they decline and lose popularity and why? Also, besides the Indy movies, what are some movies from the made in the 30s-60s which feature fedoras?
