Somewhere a while back I seem to recall a thread about favorite adventure books, but I can't find it. Anybody else remember it?
I am heading to Africa soon, probably in the fall. I wanted to read a few things before I go. Outside of Hemingway that is, I have read all those a hundred times...
I disagree. If you are going to spend over a $100 for something most expect it to last more than a dadgum 5 years. And if it gets wet and looks like crap a couple months after buying it most won't be happy either.
There are values at times and they are worth the purchase, but not standard...
Well I guess you've been fortunate. The new stetsons are simply not up to snuff. The quality of their fur is not what it once was. Most importantly they now color their hats differently. The powder dye they use is notorious for running when they get wet. They end up blotchy and streaked.
I...
Big Man I love that hat. I really love that wide ribbon with a wide brim. Excellent.
Oh and to comment on a post you made in another thread, the woman is right, you do look like somebody important in that outfit. I would say you command attention anyway, but more so even in the hat and suit.
I didn't find any Huckels in any BCF this year. I went to several in several states hoping to find a couple more as I like the one I have.
They replaced the Huckel with a Steve Harvey line of clothing and hats. The Steve Harvey hats do not appear to me to be as good as the Huckel. In fact...
Looks good to me. Listen, as long as you don't wear a fedora backwards, none of us are likely to tell you are wearing the hat wrong. We all wear our hats differently or different hats differently as well.
There's no right or wrong. It's all about who you are and what is the message you want...
What do these blocks sell for usually? I found one in an antique store the other day, but it was I think $75 being asked though they would have taken lower. This had a base that separated from the top. It was very old. Since I don't know anything about these even though I would like to get...
For me much of it depends on the hat. I have some hats that just seem to insist on being on my head like that and even if I don't place them like that they work into it. Hmmm, are they possessed of personality?
Others I wear down just over the brow. Almost all of my hats have a tilt to...
What part flying old birds looking for others? That was great fun, one of the best of my life. Alas, there's just no money in it. And once kids come, money matters a lot more than it did before. Kind of like the age of BK and the comes AK. ;)
Or did you mean a dream job is driving flying...
I may have answered this before, but I can't remember and I won't go though 25 pages to find out.
Let's see I talk to people about guns, take people shooting (trap and skeet, cowboy action, competitions, IDPA, and various other types) and hunting (everywhere in the world, this fall Africa)...
Oh I have seen 100x and one million X even from one hatmaker. There seems to be no limits to the X's in sight.
I'm not sure there ever truly was a real meaning to the X. Supposedly one hatmaker, Stetson, used it for the percentage of Beaver, each X being a 10% jump in beaver percentage...
