What perfectly gorgeous dresses KittyT and you look absolutely smashing in both of them. That salmony pink one is just so pretty. And they look like they are in great shape to boot!
I think you are looking at dresses from the early 1950s--like 1952 or so. A nice transitional dress from the...
I used to get rotten ingrown red bumps all the time, but the secret to getting rid of them is daily exfoliating. It made all of the difference. You can buy these rough plastic fabric wash mitts from the Body Shop that do the job perfectly.
This always makes me think of that BBC series 1940s house, where they show a middle class family surviving the war. And the young woman of the house used a pumice stone against her leg and the next scene you see her with a big of gash on her shin from rubbing to hard.
But I think that silky...
Often times I'll go to thrift shops not necessarily looking at clothes, but the fabric of the clothes that I can refashion into something else.
Hurrah for dirndl skirts just for that reason alone!

I made the name after a skit my old comedy troupe did featuring a craft obsessed woman's crafting show on local access cable. So, it's a little wink and nod to the charm and kitsch of crafts.
I started it after my knitting circle moved away and I felt...
I work at an online TV community site, so I have to be up on my TV watching. But there are a lot of good dramas on right now.
According to the TV industry we are in a "golden age of TV drama", but I like the sharp clever comedies that are coming out of NBC right now, like 30 Rock. That Tina...
Oh, that was very nice and I must say, it does remind me of the Erin's little stories from her A dress a Day blog (which I read every day). But I don't think it is not heard of to write stories from a piece of clothing's perspective.
But this is the first one I've heard from a men's jacket...
When I was in college I bought a percolater from the 40s from an estate sale for $4.00 and it always worked like a charm. It was actually plug-in--not over the stove. And I remember my mother having a similar one and always plugging it in the dining room after dinner parties so she could offer a...
I completely agree. Etsy is one of the best gems on the Internet and I love supporting men and women who are trying to sell their crafts. Actually the majority are women and I feel even more strongly about that!
I now only shop on Etsy for baby's presents and birthday presents for friends...
I'm drooling over that book. I must buy it. Although I must say that I have dozens of vintage knitting patterns, but you just can never have enough.
I too love to knit. And I could never charge anyone for my work, because itw ould be too expensive. I once tallied just the number of hours it...
I heard this too. I tried using it for awhile and it was OK. I liked that it was so easy to put on, but I have a hard time not getting the powder all over my black tops, so I have to drape a towel over my chest while putting it on, kinda like a bib.
Anyone else have that problem?
I think the point that the writer was trying to get across is that you don't want people to remember the clothes--but you and your smart savvy answers. I'm sure the right vintage more conservative suite, regardless of color would be fine.
