    Aero 1920s Work Coat Collar...

Yes, it's hard to demonstrate, but the lining will be a similar thickness. The back of the collar is lined with corduroy, btw.

    Aero 1920s Work Coat Collar...

I got this in a size 42 - for 20s and 30s patterns I size up. It fits like a Maxwell; my 'true' size (a 40) would have been too small.

    Aero 1920s Work Coat Collar...

A couple of pics. I chose Troy blanket lining, so that it doesn't look like the Canuck I covet but won't spend on out of an almost primal fear of accelerated addiction :)

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

That is an amazing jacket. The colour is really striking.

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

Size 44 Café Racer. This was an experiment, as my actual size (a 40) was just too tight. A size 42 was better, but I wanted one I could wear in a relaxed fit. The shoulder is bunching mainly because it's new and also because it's breaking in and a bit big, but also because I'm typing this...

Black Vicenza Veg. Tanned water resistance and care routine

I've worn Vicenza in very heavy rain and I don't think it's noticeably less water-repelling than other HH leathers, goat, steer, etc. Not sure whether water stains would apply to dark seal (which is what I have); I've had no water stains on it, but have had them on any paler leather at some...

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

Continuing with wearing in jackets, I lowered the air-conditioning to 'bracing' and am giving the Work Coat in russet Badalassi some air and the grain is starting to come through. I also bought a Pike Bros deck jacket - I sized down, as over a Hanes Beefy T-shirt, it sorts out cold weather...

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

That is a stunning jacket. I really like the way the pocket-reinforcement bits are done; I'd like to get an Aeromarine done this way in battered tan.

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

I was wearing the new black Jerky Plainsman around the house to put a bit of use into it. I quite like the russet undertones beginning to peek through, although I need winter to hit before I can beat it to a pulp. I got brown stitching to complement the eventual russet/brown wear and tear.

    Aero Jacket Sizing Help

I think the Premier Highwayman is a slimmer fit; my normal Highwayman is a size 40 and is a little big on me, but a size 40 cafe racer is far too tight.

    Aero Jacket Sizing Help

If you size up by two, the fit will be fine. The most wearable jackets tend to be on the Highwayman/LHB side. For me, cafe racer jackets need to be 'upped' by at least one size; at two sizes, a size 44 café racer jacket is as comfortable and wearable as my size 40 Highwayman and I can wear a...

    Aero Jacket Sizing Help

If you want to layer, a size 42 or 44 is going to be the way to go, I'd imagine. The slimmer fits need a gut measurement to be very definitely taken into account. I can take a size 38 or 40 in a Highwayman (boxier) and it's fine. A size 42 cafe racer on me is tight (to the extent that I wore...

Moonshiner with a sunburst back - thoughts please

Yeah, I've developed a liking for Aero's black leathers, too. I have a Plainsman in black jerky (not sure about it, waiting for a bit of patina, although got it primarily because I wanted something longer than the old Highwayman to bash the bejesus out of in appalling weather) and a Café Racer...

Moonshiner with a sunburst back - thoughts please

I think a Moonshiner (standard pattern but with strapped cuffs) would look good in battered tan. Or black goat. This is a terrible affliction...

Moonshiner with a sunburst back - thoughts please

Yeah, I'm starting to think of something less 'adorned', too. Something in battered tan with a button front. Hmmmm.

    It fits. Looks fine.

Moonshiner with a sunburst back - thoughts please

I was thinking of this and wondered if it would work. I want a button-up jacket with a sunburst back and thought of either the Mulligan (with the chest pocket removed) or the Moonshiner. I reckon battered tan with off-white stitching. J.

Horse vs Steer vs Goat Premium Half Belt

I think the brown CXFQHH is their best hide, even though I think that Vicenza and goat both wear more comfortably. I didn't have to wait long at all for the CXFQHH to break in. Going for a walk in the rain sorts it. Aero's mid-weight hides are heavy enough for the majority of my subsequent...

Horse vs Steer vs Goat Premium Half Belt

It's a really nice dark brown, though. Russet seems the way to go. It'll look outstanding.

Horse vs Steer vs Goat Premium Half Belt

Vicenza is slightly pebbly, like goat, flexible and lighter than fqhh. It has a drier hand and will take longer to patina, but is great when it does. Dark seal is really nice and blackened brown is great, too - those are the two that I know about. Goat is cheaper, highly abrasion-resistant...
