Haha, I think it's a problem, although I don't care at all about really expensive purchases (like cars or watches). I now have 9 Aeros and two SBs (with a third on the way), but they are, at least, all different styles apart from the three Café Racers (different colours).
Ideally, I'd just...
I'm split between a Half-Belt style and the four flap-pocket style (MC-127985). I'll order a Thedi when I've thinned out the number of jackets and coats I have out here in HK with me
I've been interested by SB's jackets for a while - Aero makes what I think is a more solid product overall, but...
I have a Simmons Bilt Car Coat in production in Black Prairie HH at the moment. I am also considering a Thedi in olive vachetta and an Aero LHB. I sold one a very long time ago, and I thought I might replace it :)
Aero or Simmons Bolt would be your options. I really don't think any leathers other than sheep or goat would work, though. Maybe not even goat. HH or Steer would be too stiff.
Yes, the Klondike is a good pattern - the triangular patches are a minimal extra expense. SB's goat is really nice, and the Blattwerk mahogany I got a SBV2 in is thick and not stiff. The car coat I have coming will be in Prairie Black, which is from the same tannery as Blattwerk.
I have a Car Coat from SB on the way in their Prairie Black. I've been really impressed by the Klondike and SBV2 that I own and am considering a Drifter in Mooreiche.
My Aeros have taken 2, sometimes 3 months. That's not too long. I'd rather it take a while and be done correctly.
This is similar to a post in Nov 2023. Aeros have always taken about 2-3 months as long as I've been a customer (which is 15 years). Rarely, they're quicker.
CXL FQHH is heaviest (stiffness changes over time), Vicenza is lighter and more pliable immediately (and gets more so) and Jerky is a similar weight to Vicenza, but definitely the softest and most pliable. The finish wears off on Jerky more quickly than any other leather I've seen, leaving a...
This is a really nice design. Which leather is it? Mooreiche and the Ranger dark brown have caught my eye; I might go for 1.2mm if pliable and I am trying to avoid the pebbling of goat (although SB does an awesome matte black goathide). I might add button cuffs and the seam across the chest...
Yes, I think this would work. 29 inches would be ideal , if it can be done. Blattwerk is really pliable, but thick (my SBV2 is very dense), so I am going to ask Debs about options. I'll avoid goat if possible as I want it to be relatively un-pebbled.
I bought an Aero used that wasn't one of their usual patterns and, as it was a bit too tight in the arms, sold it to a good buddy a few years ago. The jacket itself was double-breasted, and had a collar that looked like this - note the gaps between the upper and lower parts of the lapels:
I...
