I also had a friend that just had her baby - a little boy. Oddly, I am not seeing much for little Marcel, unless he wanted to wear a dress :p Cute clothes nonetheless!
Here in Omaha, a new high-capacity bridge is being built, and this one, built in 1936, is being demolished, despite being on the national historical register.
South Omaha Veterans' Memorial Bridge
Not to mention a lot of sturdy old homes overlooking the Missouri River have been...
I haven't yet sewn anything beyond hemming a pair of slacks (with much help from my grandmother), but I think I may give this a try!
I purchased a suit at Penny's at the end of the season a few years ago, and by then, I had to take what I could find. It was either a skimpy blue bikini with...
Where to begin...
I just turned 20, but I've had an affinity for all things old since I was a kid. I suppose being brought up by my grandparents had something to do with it  . They were both born in the 40's, so they really didn't introduce me to the Golden Era. I remember...
I've been meaning to reread Walden for quite some time now. It was required summer reading for one of my English classes in high school, but I more or less skimmed it then. It seemed like we had to focus more on the literary elements than enjoy the book.
I just finished World Made by Hand...
Oh thanks! This was my pseudo-bob grown out to about an inch past my chin. I slept in the foam rollers overnight and took them out in the morning. Beings as I'm not the most dexterous person, I had my sister-in-law spritz each length to be curled with Lottabody setting lotion and roll them for...
Laura, you look so beautiful! I tried to bob mine like that, and for a while it worked, but the guy that cut my hair put funky layers in the back. Plus, he told me blunt bangs would make my face look compressed, but I had them before and they worked... [huh] Anyways, you look marvelous!
Oh drat! Seems I've seen the sale too late for any foundation. I was looking forward to trying their souffle foundation, but the remaining colors are waaaay to dark. Light beige is even too dark. Oh well [huh]
Fletch - I've never had the Amana mustard, but their peach preserves are mighty tasty!
I don't care for hot dogs too much, but when I do, the Nathan's or the Hebrew National are my choices with French's classic yellow.
Of course, potato salad and mustard are inseparable...mmmmm. Perhaps I'll...
I just snagged these off of Etsy:
I'll probably replace the laces with a wider, ribbon-type lace.
Next on my list: some wedges like sixsexsix has in the above post!
After watching The Day the Earth Stood Still, I'm going to have to put a vote in for Michael Rennie.
And of course, Mr. Blackie Norton:
And can't forget:
And then I went to go see Hitman (don't ask...) with some friends and thought Timothy Olyphant looked rather nice.
I am...
maggiethespy - You look great here! I've been trying to get my hair to curl like that since it's shorter, but my grandmother moved out of state, and she was the one to always help me roll the back lol I've been getting better on my own, but my arms go numb too quick. Practice makes perfect...
They're all so wonderful! I like the Boswell Sisters, Ella Fitzgerald, Vera Lynn, Lena Horne, and Jo Stafford. There are more, of course, but these come to mind.
