You lucky son of a gun! I got in line a couple months ago...just 6 or 7 more months to go. I sure it will be worth the wait.

    Penman Hats

Love the look of this one! You are correct: It is made to wear with attitude, and I a little asymmetry in the crease will only enhance that quality. The design of the bow is fabulous, and felt appears to be super soft. Please try to post some better pictures of your own when you get an chance...

I always like viewing a re-cap of the ribbon selection process. And I like how you trusted your gut. Very creative!

I've been preoccupied lately, so I'm a bit late seeing this one...but that is one of the most striking hats I've seen on the FL for a while! I never would have thought of combining those felt and ribbon colors, but they really work. Center dent is icing on the cake.

Finally...I feel like I just might belong here...

Wonderful collection; good choices all. But you'll really know you've drank the cool-aid when you miss your Bogart and try to get another in a year or two. :)

Eric: Your Batsakes is marvelous! Love the proportions; and the bash is superb! What is the felt color (looks like it might be bone or silvermist)? And how long ago did you have this one made?

Thanks, Bob. I agree that the whip-stitch is a terrific way to go when you want something more subtle than a bound edge. And Mike does a terrific job with them. I 'm surprised we don't see more of this treatment.

Thanks, Red! As I've said, without seeing your Rose Bowl hat, this never would have happened. However, I'm going to call mine a 1947 Rose Bowl hat (that is the year in the '40s when the Fighting Illini won the Rose Bowl). ;)
