    Fireplaces and Stoves

Well, its only taken almost forever to get the stove blasted. High temperature primer, a finish coat, new mica and its ready to go. No powder coat - I was tired of waiting on the trades. I'm really pleased with it. Haven't figured out where to place it, but its a keeper.

Adventure! Fedora Lounge Folks in Action!

I came across this picture of one of my more exotic diving adventures... ever wonder what happens to those golf balls that land in the water? Dive clubs bid on collecting them and sell them to driving ranges, i.e. the striped balls. I had a burlap bag around my waist and spent 90 minutes in 5'...

    Out Your Back Door

I had a bluebird run to maintain when I was working with the DNR in Wisconsin during my younger days. About 15 boxes that were great to watch, assuming of course that the tree swallows didn't get there first.

    What is a day worth?

I frequently ask myself this exact question. This is usually when I'm doing a thankless repair task that no-one will see and I get no satisfaction from other than saving the money and hassle of finding a tradesman, scheduling when its convenient for them, and paying them for grudgingly...

Vintage things that have REAPPEARED in your lifetime?

Perhaps this is a good time to be snapping up "classic" 35mm cameras. I've seen almost giveaway prices on this "obsolete" stuff of late. That's why I picked up a an early Nikonos underwater camera (Nikon 1963 and later). I couldn't afford it when I was regularly diving, but bought it cheap a...

    Show us your TIES

The back of the Makenzie and another I just liked: I recently started seeing several of these narrow ties - reminds me of when I wore them in the 60's. I picked up 2 that I liked for novelties sake:
