Free to a good home: Elasticated army braces

I was sent these in error, and the seller doesn't want them back. Passing on the good spirit, they are free to a good home. I think contemporary, but you may want them! http://www.flickr.com/photos/8568916@N03/4192795073/

    Hello, introduction, question

Ah, so I can - Thanks! I did attempt to find an FAQ, but all I could find from the top link was the generic buletin board one. Was I being particularly stupid, or is this something that could be improved?

    Hello, introduction, question

Hi all, I stumbled upon this forum while searching for information about Irvin flying jackets. Seems like a great collection of like-minded people. I'm just playing the usual 'I haven't been here before and there's a million and one great threads to get involved with' game! I can't claim to...

I have bucket loads of small Swiss change - I can never be bothered to take it back over, and I just collect more on every trip (which is fairly regularly). Must do something about that...

    Best doggie names ever

My black lab is a rescue, and I kept his original name as it's quite dashing, and fit for the breed: Henry

Where did your user name come from??

Well, I started going grey at the fair age of 18. I was dithering about on a climb in the Avon Gorge, Bristol, when 21 or so, when my friend I was climbing with offered the timeless encouragement: "Get on with it you grey badger-haired *******" It stuck from then on!

    Costume vs. natural

Interesting comments. I have certainly always followed the 'dress to please yourself' line. Although, I did grow my hair at school as it annoyed the senior management. Ah, the joys of youth!

    Christmas Cake recipe!

Oi! I resemble that recipe... Hint with shop bought cakes - feed them with Brandy, like you would a real one, a week before eating. Same with Christmas puds. Yum.

    I never wear jeans...

My black lab does curl up asleep on my clothes (ahhh! Makes them wam in the morning too) but wouldn't dream of being that naughty. I hope.

    Who are your Role Models?

A man called The Baron Hans von Blixen Finecke. Olympic rider, who trained my riding instructor. The way horses willingly go when trained with his methods is amazing.

    Flight jackets' warmth compared?

I can only vouch for the Irvin, having worn one once... That was certainly toasty. I am now on the lookout for one myself to keep me warm in these rather chilly UK nights at the train station.

how big is the chest circ. of your jacket???

I would welcome advice on the fitting of sheepskin jackets, particularly Irvins. I hear that often a larger size is better due to the lining. Does this follow in practice?

    Flying boots

Great boots here! I first saw a real pair (along with an Irvin) in a hotel on Prague, where they had them on display. I would love to have an original pair - do they go as big as 11? Current prime object is an Irvin though...

ALL ORIGINAL Irvin RAF type Jackets - Loving that Wolf in sheeps' clothing!

Hi all! A quick hello... Have just found this site, and loving it. I first saw an Irvin 'in the flesh' at a hotel in Prague which had one and a pair of lether flying boots on display, and just fell for 'the look'. I'm sure you all know what I mean... I am now attempting to buy an original, and...
