for me it was a mixture of films and history. on the history side of it when i studied WWII i always noticed that all of the females involved always seemed to look so beautiful and strive so hard to keep their families going even though their men were fighting and dying. it made me feel humbled...
hi ladies. haven't been on here for a few months now and there are so many new faces!
i need a bit of advice as per usual.
i've been trying to go for this hair doo of late and am having real problems.
it's not just this one actually it's any of the big glamour styles that rely on having a...
after some what of a lapse in actually being on the internet, i bought this.
there seems to be a direct correlation in me visiting this site and me buying clothes on ebay. hmmm.

i like the idea of betty page although it wouldn't really be dressing up. i kinda did that look for about 4 years. so it's not really going in costume. hee hee.
morticia is the thinnest of the thin and i can't pull that off, no matter which corset i wear.
betty boop is an idea too...
vanessa- that dress is wonderful. and you have a cracking figure also;)
i'm going to have to start making my dresses. it seems that vintage clothes in my size are hard to come by unless you want to look like you're actually wearing a moomoo. hmm.
gotta say, i never got anywhere with a pummice stone. the foot files they do at the body shop are swell, though.
i have had really horrid cracked and rough heels for years and i thought i would never bear them but if you keep them polished, scrubbed and moisturised you'll find you will be...
i started to use boots "traditional" glycerine and rosewater after my cold cream. it's really helped. it gives a little added softness to my skin to top up that of the cold cream.
i also started using it on my elbows cos i'm hoping to get them tattooed soon and they need softening up. so the...
it's just costume. it's my birthday party so i like to keep it fun.
the marilyn idea is great. only problem is i'm having problems finding a flapper dress in my size.
the winona idea is perfect except for me being a lot bigger than her. this is why i'm struggling. i can't pull off thin lasses...
haven't been on for a while so sorry this is late. thanks for the comments a few days back. kimberly, ohairas, rockapin-up and daisy- you're a bunch of sweethearts.
ruby- thanks for the betty boop comment- you made my day! hee hee! i love your pixie-do as well. it's so sweet! very jealous...
my birthday party is in just under 2 months. it's supposed to be fancy dress. and i suddenly realised i don't know what to do. i'd prefer something vintage based but i don't know. only thing i could think of was cleopatra (liz taylor version). but i'm not sure.
someone! inspire me!
i'm so sorry to hear that. i have to say though, it makes you seem very hardcore. and plus, everyone has a war wound or three.
i think you're very brave.
;)
i'm actually really proud of my hair the last few days. i've managed rolls that stay put all day and only take me 10 mins (not quick for some of you, but it's my best time yet).
thanks miss kimberly! i thought it would look beatiful with a crinoline slip underneath and a cardy. it even has little art deco style striped panels on the breast. i think she's worried cos i usually wear black or dark red.

we should DEMAND that these be put in every single womens magazine. and get ads on tv.
i'm sick to the back teeth of skinny size 0 girls being the face (faceless more like) of fashion and entertainment recently.
luckily, so is my fella :D
just bought this. it's green and white striped incase you can't tell cos it's a bit pixelated.i was so excited about it so i showed my mom, who told me it was horrid. now i'm worried.
