I recently got this Borsalino Panama.
Can you tell by the ID sticker the age?
Also, what suggestions do you have for stray frays on the edge of the brim around the seam? see my close up photo below:
Thanks for the Google lookup info. By the shape of the square size tag and only in US size ( 7 3/8 but not 59), I think deadlyhandsome is right with the mid-60s to 70s. I'll know more soon when it arrives in the mail.
Can anyone identify or provide more info on this hat? All I know is Royal Deluxe, which is more about the material used than the hat style, correct? And a guess is that it is from the 50's. I found it for sale online, but that is all of the info the seller knows. Thanks.
I picked up this little number in Mexico City last weekend. Tardan has been selling hats in the same Plaza de la Constitución location since 1847. This one is a "natural fiber" straw. I also picked up a nice wool felt fedora that I'll post soon.
Yes, squared size tag with union stamp on back. Those pics are on the feed in the other forum.
Thanks for the knowledge. I’m pretty sure it’s 60s and definitely OR dimensions. I’m not planning to get tired of it anytime soon but I’ll keep you fellas in mind!

THanks, I did find the union label thread. My label doesn't have that extra number in the upper corner, so I wasn't sure. I'd guess 60s, though.
Do you think there was a model name besides "Genuine Panama"?
