Of course, as always, message me here for a private sale at a better price than I can offer on...
I usually wear a 42, but for Schott I can usually size down; this is a 40. The fit is snug, glove-like. Maybe I could wear a 42, but I think I'm dialed in here.
I don't think it's bad.
Slweces, body length, shoulders look about right. It's got some room around the waist, and if you had the adjusters you could deal with that. For $120 I'd say that you can economically repair the missing adjusters and wear it.
Apparently in about five months...
But seriously, I don't have anything against Himel Bros. They look like great jackets. More $$$ than I can afford, but I would love to own one. I think 5 months wait is totally reasonable, but what is not reasonable is five months wait when told two months...
Drink until you forget about the negative experience and when you sober up you'll have a great jacket that you can't remember how you got, and you'll feel so lucky it'll make you smile again.
It's been a while... next time I have it out, I'll take some and update the original thread. I don't want to take this thread off-topic.
I like this shinki Schott. I'm not crazy about the center seam back panel, but it says they redesigned the back to fit better, and I can't argue with how it...
They do limited runs from time to time. The value depends, but it probably doesn't go up like you'd think it would if you've followed speculative collectors markets like baseball cards or video games or art.
If you wait, you'll find one for sale one in a great while, and the price will vary...
nglitz's leather ages beautifully, at least their black and brown cow does. I am not experienced with their colored hides, but they had some on the rack in their shop when I was in Portland, and new I thought it looked like a 70s vinyl car seat. Of course that can all change with wear, and I...
My heaviest leather jacket that I've weighed has been my natel cross zip, just under 8 lbs.
Im not sure what my TRD jacket weighed, I never weighed it, but it was damn heavy, always got a remark when I handed it to anyone. Might have been heavier.
I have trench coats that weigh more, but...
Of course. But if a shop cannot work in the weight you're requesting because their machines cannot handle it, they will be right to refuse your order. A better shop might be willing to refer you to someone who can, if they exist, perhaps.
To be fair 6oz is super thick leather for a jacket and it probably is too much for many sewing machines. 3oz+ should be adequate thickness for just about anything you want to do in normal life. You can certainly go thicker, but like with anything there are trade-offs involved.
I tend to find...
This image was just posted on reddit.... 30s/40s, looks like a D-pocket Schott Perfecto (could it be anything else?). Photo was taken in Cleveland, OH, which is where I'm from, which makes it more cool...
They're different, not necessarily better or worse. Really subjective, and depending on what you want and find desirable in a jacket. If you have them all, you can see for yourself and decide.
