The original lunch pail or dinner pail was a tin pail with a lid that pressed on. Honey pails were popular, honey was sold in 5 pound tins and when you had eaten up all the honey, you had a dinner pail.
For overheating or marginal heating problems one simple thing is often overlooked. That is, a buildup of dirt and bugs in the radiator. Clean by blowing out the dirt from behind with a compressed air hose or vacuuming from the front. The air hose is more effective if you have one.

6v lights on old cars often suffer because of decayed, corroded wiring. The solution is to use a relay as close to the headlights as possible and some fresh wiring. If you don't want to replace the front wiring harness and dimmer switch.
They also need aiming every couple of decades. And, you...
MikeKardec maybe you can answer a question for me. How hard would it be to add a sound track to a twenties silent movie? Not just music but sound effects, dialogue matching the actors' lip movements, a complete sound track? In effect, turning the movie into a modern talkie?
I am sure it could...
There is a latch mechanism under the seat. Usually two, one on each side, connected by a wire.
Over the years they get dirty, the wire sags or breaks, and the seat does not move and latch as it should.
There were also springs to pull the seat forward, making adjustments easy.
To fix it...
The real feature tonight was dessert. Home made applesauce made with new crop crisp tangy apples, craisins, sugar, molasses, nutmeg and a hint of cloves. With a scoop of French vanilla ice cream.
Part of a healthy, wheat free diet.
It is full.
Reasons for Hugged post:
1) It is cute
2) It is funny
3) They are wearing vintage styles
4) Oktoberfest is coming
5) Where is your sense of humor?
I saw the picture on another site and thought some of your readers would get a kick out of it. General Attire seemed as good a place...
Ha ha ha I think I was crabby there a few days ago. Just started cutting out wheat and wheat products after reading Wheat Belly and Grain Brain. Have now been off wheat for a week and feel better, also starting to lose weight.
You could invest in a small ultrasonic cleaner. Ideal for cleaning small items and will not harm them. A few minutes in the cleaner and old hardened soil washes off with a soft brush or wet microfibre cloth. Things come out as clean as new.
You can buy Silvo silver polish at any good grocery or...
How come you people don't weigh 300 pounds? Or do you?
This is what I ate today and I weigh 285
Breakfast: nothing
Lunch: bowl of beef barley soup. No sandwich, no crackers, no nothing, just the soup
Supper: fried filet of cod, steamed baby carrots and celery, a small glass of lemonade and a...
Winnipeg still has snow from last winter. Isn't this how glaciers get started?

I'm curious how you got onto this. Did you just happen to be browsing a 1952 newspaper and saw the article? Or do you have one of these Clydesdale sweaters?
If you think you have a bad one, cut a small snip of cloth from some inconspicuous spot and put a match to it.
You can get anything made or printed if you want to. The same guy had another scam going when he was in the glass business.
There are 2 kinds of plate glass, one kind is polished on...
Funny story about over powered cars. A few years ago a friend of mine tried to buy a 1956 Chev hardtop but could not agree on a price with the owner. The car had a 600HP big block engine which cost a lot of money. The seller agreed to take a lower price IF he could take out the expensive engine...
I like liver (with onions and bacon) but then, I grew up in a Dutch household where they ate things like head cheese and pickled herring.
Liver OK but I draw the line at head cheese and pickled herring. If you are not familiar the head cheese is bits of meat scraped off a pig's head suspended...
