    interesting modern sports jacket

I actually saw two different jackets, one by Tasso Elba, and one by Cubavera. One of them had side pleats, one had center, I forget which had which now, but they were both promising, sadly neither were in my 40R/meduim size. The Cubavera one also had.. not sure what the word for it is, front...

    New film review: Triumph (1917)

oooooooh how was it?!?! Was Lon a main character? I know it was pre-Miracle Man so I figured it wouldn't be too juicy of a role for him. Was I wrong? I planned on going but had to work late at work... I saw the Academy's last screening, it was Her Wild Oat w/Colleen Moore & this amazingly...

    interesting modern sports jacket

Tasso Elba @ Macy's I saw this in the store and it had a back belt and an action back, but sadly not in my size. You'd think dept. stores would keep in stock medium sized clothing but apparently not...? Wish there were better pictures, including a back shot.

    My Custom Tailor USA visit

I thought, since he's in town, it can't hurt to get measured. then when/if I choose something similar to what Rooster just received, I'll feel better about the measurements they're working off of. Perhaps I'll even bring a pair of wahmaker pants to show them the waist and rear sections... :)

    My Custom Tailor USA visit

Anyone planning on getting measured by them while they're here? I'm wondering if they would remain not a bespoke tailor even if they've got your measurements made by their people? Would they still operate off of set size patterns or off of your measurements?

How don't you go broke & up to your eyeballs in debt?!

Admins feel free to move this to where it best belongs. But as for me, it's in the suit section all the way because my mind is overloaded with ideas for repro suit combos and searching ebay for the perfect fitting vintage suit. But how in tar-nation is anyone's bank account supposed to keep up...

blue serge suit with the belt in the back

sure certainly makes sense to me, very interesting indeed and I enjoy the thought of someone in the 30's/40's looking back at a previous generation. Very interesting photos aswell! Some strange nuances I wouldn't have guessed. Especially in the collars of those suits.

blue serge suit with the belt in the back

I quite like this style, it's distinctive and classy. Very much dated, but I wonder if it would seem so if recreated (or found vintage in good condition) and worn today. Big fan of the high rounded collar aswell so any excuse for a full suit to wear one with sounds great to me :p

blue serge suit with the belt in the back

blue serge suit with the belt in the back

Wery interestin... so would you say if Cab's song is recorded in the early/mid 40's he's more pointing fun at the dated material used rather than the fact it's back belted? What year approx. did back belts fall out of fashion? Did they have a life into the war years of the 40's at all?
