So trivial, yet it really ticks you off.

At this point I would be satisfied with the jet pack. I was promised 45 years ago I would have it in 25 years or less.

So trivial, yet it really ticks you off.

I have only used the self checkout at our local evil empire branch a couple of times. I find it odd that there are usually more gold vested attendants in that area than there are open conventional check out lanes. I had it hollering at me to remove my purchases from the bagging area as soon as...

What was the last TV show you watched?

We have been intending to watch Ozark, so my wife suggested we look at it last night. I think it will easily make the cut for a second winter evening show.

So trivial, yet it really ticks you off.

The adult trick or treaters may well be trivial, but I see such things as the result of rewarding ridiculous behavior in general. What we allow we encourage and are guaranteed more of. I feel sorry for the children. They have had the misfortune of being born to idiots.

Sears might be going belly up

Our local Ace Hardware stores have been selling Craftsman tools for quite a while. Sears sold the tool line off to Stanley some time back with some rights reserved to sell branded tools for a certain number of years after the sale.

What Was The Last Radio Program You Heard?

Because of the discussion in the This Day In History thread, last night was the Chase & Sanborn hour from October 30, 1938. Don, Edgar, Madeline Carroll and several more. I'm saving up to send in for my Charlie McCarthy game.

Sears might be going belly up

Surely Eddie Haskell Llampair still has all of his shares in the safe in his office though, right? :p

What was the last TV show you watched?

Started into season 1 of The Americans. I needed to find a new show for cold weather. So far it seems pretty good.

    Today in History

I have been told that if everyone who claimed to have been listening to Orson actually had been it would have been the most listened to program in history, but most actually learned of it later.

    DC-3 / C-47

^^ A friend of mine was there a couple of years ago. He said there were more American flags flying there than at home. They still remember more than 70 years on.

    Terms Which Have Disappeared

My favorite is "deader than Julius Caesar". I do get some baffled looks with that one.

Yes. It won't fit. 25 years ago yes, but no more.

    BATTER UP!

Coming from a Cardinal family I was pretty excited when Joe started. It quickly became obvious that some traits are not heritable.

Me. It's still heard here, though not as often as it used to be.

Vintage Big Smith Work Shirt 1960s Long Sleeve Sanforized Permant Press Large

Those shirts and the matching pants were my grandfather's daily uniform. He owned no denim of any kind. I wish the shirt was a bit larger, but thanks for the memory. :)

    Families of the Lounge

Thank you. If I had known how much fun it is I would have had them first. :D The kids say I am not the same as poppy as I was as dad. I, of course have no idea what they're talking about. :p

So trivial, yet it really ticks you off.

Our old Kenmores are still going. My wife has mentioned upgrading but there is not a single piece on them that I can't easily repair at reasonable cost, so I doubt they will be leaving soon. The less I can have to do with printed circuit boards and control modules the better. I deal with that...

Sears might be going belly up

I managed to run over a sheet metal screw which created the need to stop at the tire shop for a plug and patch. While I was waiting I noticed a commercial for one of the Sears Hometown stores in a town 75 or 100 miles away on the waiting room television. She was very chipper while inviting me to...

    Terms Which Have Disappeared

I have mentioned here before that since I grew up without any AC that a summertime movie was a double treat. Walking out into the wall of heat and humidity was a bear, but it was absolutely worth it. :)

    Loungers' Pets

I've always wished that we could be more like dogs in accepting handicaps and infirmities. Since they don't know any different they don't mourn over them or allow them to define their existence like we tend to do. They accept and get on with their lives.
