Gene,
That is a beautiful 7X! It looks great in any crease but to me it looks fantastic in this cattleman's crease. It looks so natural in it. Was that the crease it was in when you acquired it?
I received mine yesterday. Very nice hat! The first thing I noticed when I opened the box was the brim looked very short to me. I thought it was just because I'm used to 2 3/4" brims but then I measured it. The brim on mine is 2 1/2". I'm not complaining and actually like it. I also really like...
Tom,
You are welcome.
Ideaguy,
These are Seabass' boots. You'll have to talk to Che about any trades. I'm just the delivery guy:) I know he wears a 7 1/8 or 7 1/4 hat. I'm sure he will be along soon. If he is not interested in your hat and it is 7 1/2 I might be though.
Tom,
I wear a 10D in Justin Ropers wearing average thickness white socks. A 10 1/2D is too long for me. These fit me fine in the heel and width but my toes were a little scrunched into the toe of the boots. I tried them with thin dress socks and it was still uncomfortable but real close to...
Scott,
Do you just use a needle and thread or do you use a sewing awl? I think I might have had better luck if I had used a sewing awl. I have used those before on leather and I would think with a smaller needle they would work great for a sweatband.
Mike,
They really are beautiful. I was very disappointed they wouldn't fit me. If they did they wouldn't be leaving San Antonio. Che has a great boot collection and is a pleasure to deal with too.
I'm really surprised these are still here! Custom made boots like these would normally cost at least twice what Che is asking and would probably take 6 months or longer to be delivered.
Tom,
I just prefer to wait and bid at the end of the auction. If I place a bid with EBay it is immediately entered into the auction and can not be retracted. Using a sniper program I can cancel it prior to the time it is set to be entered into the auction if I find something else I like better.
Alan,
Great hat! When I first saw it on EBay I had a feeling you would be watching it :)
Do you think the "Tailored Edge" has to do with the sweatband rather than the brim? The brim doesn't look like it has had anything special done to it.
I don't see any problems with using a sniping program. The program just does exactly what I would do if I was sitting in front of the keyboard. Before I started using one I lost quite a few items because I wasn't available at the end of the auction to place a bid. Now I don't have to worry about...
Very nice hat! I can't help you with the age but it looks older to me.
I hate it when a nice older hat is improperly shipped. Awhile back I bought an older Stetson Open Road that was crammed into a Priority Mail box that was half the size of the hat. The hat looked great in the auction...
Thanks guys. I'll take some more pictures when I receive it. Tim is great to work with. I believe that is his first attempt at a shark gill ribbon and it looks like he nailed it!
Number 6
Here is Tim's 6th hat!
It is a size 7 1/2 Silverbelly felt with a Slate Grey (medium width) shark gill ribbon. The brim is 2 3/4". Tim took these pictures and the hat is in route to me. I think the hat looks beautiful in the pictures and I can't wait to try it on!
Thanks Tim. It...
