Maybe it is telling you it is happy to be going for a drive. Lots of cars had problems with brake squeal in the 80s after they took the asbestos out of the brake lining material. If it bothers you, you could bevel the ends of the brake shoes with a sanding block. Or, maybe a brake adjustment...- Stanley Doble

Dime stores used to sell the sprinkler with cork that fitted into a pop bottle. Haven't seen one since the sixties. A spray bottle from the dollar store should do as well. Every Time I Toss the Bacon Grease I Feel Guilty
When I make a dish of red beans and rice, hoppin john, moors and christians and similar I stir in a couple of tablespoons of bacon grease. It adds flavor and the dish does not seem so dry. I mean a couple of tablespoons to a casserole dish or pot of beans and rice.- Stanley Doble

Here is a graph of the US unemployment rate from the Depression to the end of WW2. Note that unemployment peaked in 1933 and the depression was ending by 1934. Then came the Roosevelt Recession in 1937 -38 when the government deliberately killed the economy to prevent another boom/bust cycle...- Stanley Doble
