Just got my Akubra Balmoral Hardhat, anyone have ideas on softening this up! My god, the hemp is sooo stiff! -

OK, getting ready for the summer, I was looking at a Stetson Hemp Stratoliner in Sand color @ $131 then I ran across an Akubra Balmoral Hemp for $58 USD from hats by the hundred so went that way. The plan is to replace the "leather" band with a grossgrain ribbon. -

I have an Akubra stylemaster we got SOAKED in Juneau Alaska it was/is a 60 dried ok and now is about a 60.5 and is my go to rain hat. -

Joking aside,anyone Looking at a Stetson Stratoliner Hemp my felt modern strats and Playboy are 60/7.5 and fit fine are the hemp strats the same? Are the brims as curled as the milan strats (which I have one and do not wear) and can they be shaped with distilled water as other straws? -

Sorry for my lack of knowledge, I have heard the term before. If it is referring to the barrel being pinned to the frame then,yes. It is a pre 25 Model 1955 45 ACP made in 1957- DanO
