Nice Borsalino. I've always like green. I have an old wool Bailey hat that I wore hiking for years. It started brown, but is now green! Since I've discovered fur hats, I'm gonna retire the old wool hat, Regards, F_M

Hi HarpPlayerGene!
Your hat looks alot like mine except a different color. It's a nice hat. I wore it all day yesterday while I was in Tallahassee with my son (a SR accounting student at FSU). We were out, offically goofing off, looking at knives, guns, boats, cars. We had to...
Hat Box Insert
This was the hat box insert that saved the day. It gave up its life to save the hat. I guess I need to have it bronzed!
From the comments in this thread, there seems to be alot of Champ FW's out there. Well, I'm going to Tallahasse this morning, and I'm wearing mine...
All the straws that I have had didn't hold up well in the rain. I guess it is possible to coat the fibers. However, this brings to mind a question for one who is just now getting into furs. What fur seems to be the most foul weather durable?
Nice Hat
Boy, thats a nice western style panama. Beautiful weave. Really Nice. Makes me want to go put on my Chocolate brown Bison Justins! Lucky friend
I emailed the seller some photos of the package, and step by step as I unpacked. I sent them in a courteous note, with the intent to allow the shipper to learn from this shipping experience. I know I learned. Next time I buy any hat that will be shipped, I will be more diligent to insure that it...
Nice hat Thunder
Nice hat. The metal tan, though a tan, looks a littly gray in certain light. That gray one sure looks nice. I'm sure enjoying mine. F_M
Nice Panama
That's a nice panama. I wear panamas daily here in Florida, with a weave just about like that. Great wearers, and not so expensive that you worry about getting caught in the rain. Enjoy the hat! F_M
I just obtained my first fur felt fedora, a vintage champ featherweight in metal tan. But as Yogi said, "It ain't over 'till it's over"..It's very true. It was almost the first fur felt fedora that I "bought" but didn't get!
I was shipped USmail, with brown kraft wrapping around it's original...
Lake City/Jax area
Colby Jack and Indycop,
Well, hello to a couple more North Floridians! I fly out of JAX alot on business, so I'm over there every once in a while.
Indycop, glued-in insert in my Panama from St Aug fell out after I wore it-alot-out in the heat. I think the heat caused the...
Wearing Hats since I was a Kid
I was born in Italy to US parents (military), then moved to various bases in the US while my dad was alternating between US assingments and vacationing in SE Asia. While he was on his "Tours", we would go back to my parents home in South Mississippi, out in the...
Thanks for the Welcomes
I enlarged the pictures, so much easier to see.
Yes, Indycop, the fountain is in St. Augustine, just a few yards from the old gate, just off ST. George street. That picture is one of my favorites. Note the clock in the background, such an authentic timestamp.
For...
Warm greetings from the state of Florida! My name is Marlin, and I'm from Florida--Hence the name.
I've been a hat wearer all my life, but since my wife bought me my first Panama Fedora, I have been hooked.
I have enjoyed reading the posts. There is a wealth of knowledge here. Regards. F_M
