Well cool! I didn't know you guys did post sale service stuff, its such a rare thing these days that Im so used to buying something and if anything goes wrong with it its my issue to figure out. I'll give a call when I get a day off.
To me though it doesn't seem to be a slider gap problem...
Hey gang,
I've got an ELC B-6 which I've had 2 years now. The only gripe I have is with the main zipper.
The problem is when it's zipped up the very bottom 2 teeth keep popping appart so that when I unzip it the slider gets snagged and won't separate unless it futz around wiggling the teeth...
Howdy all,
I'm a long time news boy hat wearer. Have one I love, from golden age motorcycle clothing but it's getting old and I'm looking for a new one.
Where can I find a super super high quality period correct news cap. I'm talking one so nice people will try to steal it and I'll have to write...
Yea I've noticed the same with my ELC B6, no wind flap is, in my opinion, the only design flaw of this jacket. If it had one I feel like a could squeeze another 5 degrees out of her. Surprising how much it makes a difference
Do any of you fine folks know where I can find buckle back jeans with suspender buttons for a not so astronomical price? I was looking at those Levi's vintage clothing but they are north of $250. Are there any options in the $65-100 range?
So an Aero D1 wouldnt be any warmer than an Eastman B6?
Another question. I've seen a whole lot of people who have both a B6 and D1 say they gravitate to the D1 the most? What about a D1 is preferable?
In reference to B6's and D1's, are Aero and ELC the same in warmth?
I've got an Eastman B6, which I love but now that it's broken in it seems ever so slightly larger and only about 90% as warm as it used to be. I wonder if I should have gone a size smaller.
I was pondering an Aero D1, the...
I was looking at that one but couldn't justify the price considering what I just spent on the original. That's why I'm planning on making a repro. I was also playing around with the idea of a really class dress coat version done in cream wool, brown leather reinforcements and a red silk lining.
Update:
I scrounged up an ugly old blue blanket with the same width and density of the Railroad coat material. I'm going to begin the pattern and mock up jacket today. Im aiming on sizing it up to a 42. Lets see what comes of it.
I think I'm going to keep it and start working up a pattern tomorrow. I am on the hunt for 32oz wool with the goal of reproducing the jacket. Big project but I'm really excited about it
I sold a Grizzly jacket to Ralph Lauren Co. A while back. I wonder what they did with it. Maybe I'll start doing repros of this railroad coat, now where the blue blazes do I turn up 32oz wool fabric?
This is why I never have any money...because as soon as I save it some rare old gem pops up that I have to rescue...and poof wallet full of flies. I give you an original 1930s JC Penny Railroad Coat. I plan on moving it onward when I find someone who will value it as much as me, but for now I'm...
My grandfather said that whole early period really was like space Cowboys they were experimenting with everything, they accidently blew up the lab when they were testing fluorine gas. It was so cool as a kid, he would take me to lunch with all his retired NASA friends. They were the suavest...
