My order was submitted and paid for on April 6th, a halfbelt in seal brown jerky horsehide, with some minor modifications. I was told "fall delivery". I won't need it for a few more weeks, it is still in the 80's here, but I hope it comes soon. :)
Mine was ordered and paid for April 6th. It is very modified from the original pattern. As long as it arrives by the end of September, and fits right, I will be happy.
So I've emailed Mark a couple times the last few weeks, and got no response. I hope he is enjoying vacation time as well, while the factory takes time off. I just hope he gets back to me when they come back to work. Any one know when they re-open?
The irony contained in that simple statement......
Kind of like saying "Everest, it's just a mountain."
Mario, save every penny until you can get one, these hats really are worth it. I own a couple, and sometimes I still drool just looking at them hanging on my wall.
I've also noticed...
I would also recommend El Paso Saddlery

My department prohibits shoulder holsters, but if I could use one, it would be one of theirs.
That makes sense. However, when I first contacted Eastman a few years ago about ordering a jacket to the USA, they directed me to contact History Preservation. I suppose going through Eastman UK would be better, but how do you do it?
Yes, they are the American distributors for Eastman Leather. Search the outerwear / jacket forum, and you will see many Eastman Jackets. I've heard great things about Eastman Jackets, and have always thought it would be nice to add one to my collection.
Curious though, how last fall when...
Sadly I wear a size 9. You might have better luck selling them at Club Obi Wan, more people in the market for those type of shoes. I do hear they are great shoes, and your price is good
I know this pic is floating around in other threads, but here it is again in this thread. The hat is an Art Fawcett VS, designed to replicate the Stetson Whippet.
It's amazing. Not only are the hats outstanding, the whole process of ordering a new hat is so much fun. Planning the felt color, ribbon treatment, style, and working with Art through the whole process is a joy. For me, the anticipation and act of ordering a new hat is as much a pleasure as...
Thanks guys
Tortswon, you must have added your post while I was typing mine, it wasn't there when I started. That is a great porkpie, I especially like the ribbon contrast with the felt color. Very sharp.
BTW, Art told me an interesting story about that little splash of color he puts in...
So I got a message from Art the other day. He told me that my latest hat was finished, but that he was planning a trip to Salt Lake City that week. He wondered if I would be interested in having a personal delivery. Naturally I jumped at the oppurtunity to meet Art face to face. So yesterday...
I've always been a film lover. Years ago my wife and I started searching out classic films that were groundbreaking, or had won oscars years ago, etc, films we had never seen but were important. I am also in the camp of, "I'm sorry, I just didn't get why it was so great" when it comes to...
Any of the "alleged" comedies starring Adam Sandler, Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, or Owen Wilson. 10 minutes with any one, and I feel the need to vomit. 20 minutes and I'm suicidal. Starsky and Hutch left me in a coma for weeks.
Dudley Do Right, Beaches with Bette Midler, and Alien...
Agreed, that is one sharp jacket. I have the same model and love it. It has been one of my single most enjoyable articles of clothing, and by far my favorite leather jacket ever (I've owned around a dozen).
It's getting too warm around here to wear mine, but we're getting a cold front...
That is SLICK!
The hat itself is a stunning creation, but I am also impressed how well it suits you. You did well in your choice, and Art pulled off yet another great hat. I've been thinking I would like a blue smoke lid, and yours isn't helping convince me I don't need it!!
Congrats.
I agree the collar looks a bit big, but that is a darn nice jacket. Once you wet the collar, and really work it, it will become pliable and soft. Then it will lay down in a way that makes it less noticeable, and it wont look so big.
Here's a photo of an Indiana Jones Last Crusade style...
