How Vintage Do You Go? -merged thread-

Be careful with the debit cards and virtual checks. They do not offer the same protections as credit cards if your identity is stolen. The laws are different, but many of us make the mistake that if there is a major card brand logo, the same rules apply. Be sure to check with your bank about...

The morning after...Ow... my eyes...Hangover help.

A second on the gatorade, but it works best if you drink it before you go to bed and after you are done drinking. Have it in the refrigerator before you go out -- it's easier than navigating the convenience store afterwards. For the really bad ones, with awful nausea the next day, ice water...

A youngers man's Classic Style and women

Not to be argumentative, but I think Metropdhas tried the 'friends first' and 'better man' route and found it not working. Friends to lovers can happen, unless she gets tired of waiting for the kiss that never seems to come and goes looking for someone else because she thinks he's just not...

A youngers man's Classic Style and women

It sounds like there are two unrelated things going on in your original post. Like everyone else said, you should dress the way you like and be true to yourself. As for the motional crutch thing -- that is more complicated, but without knowing anything more than the one sentence it is...

    Ladylike drinks for the ladies?

Thanks, Desi, I plan to add it to my cocktail list. Maybe you should start a home cocktail concoction thread.

    Ladylike drinks for the ladies?

To be clear, are you talking about coating the entire glass or just the rim with sugar? I'm thinking the rim, but I have been wrong before.

Japanese Whisky Voted Best In World

Suntory Manhattan Tonight I tried using Suntory for a Manhattan. I used Suntory, Extra Dry Vermouth, and my home made bitters. It was too dry for a Manhattan I think. More cocktail reviews as I try them.

Japanese Whisky Voted Best In World

Suntory Yamazaki I bought a bottle of Suntory Yamazaki a couple days ago. It is is tasty, but if you get it, I would recommend putting a splash of water in it. It really does open up the flavor and reduce the harshness. When I was in Japan, i ordered it and it came in a bottle that already had...

Where are the good Italian Restaurants????

Chicago: Sopranos In Chicago there is a restaurant called Sopranos on Sheffield, about a block North of Diversey. There is a mix of Italian comfort food and "real" Italian food and a good wine list. It was open long before the HBO series, so you won't be greeted by cardboard cutouts of...

What the heck does Jughead wear?

Scallop Hat I have seen this kind of hat referred to as a 'Scallop' Hat or cap. I have instructions for how to make one somewhere if anyone is interested. To the best of my memory, it involves putting an old felt fedora on a pot, and then putting that pot on another pot that has water boiling...

I have. It is smooth, but I don't think it has the same elements in the flavors that you find in scotchs and bourbons. It is closest to Irish whiskey in my experience.

Goals and Steps The other posters have great advice, and I'll add on. Sometimes if you hear the same things in different wells, it helps. So, set small goals and have the steps to accomplish them. You know you have to do the paper. So, you create the goals and the steps to do it. For...

    Hat sightings in Japan

I got a great hat while I was in Japan and get a lot of compliments on it. I have already posted a thread on it, but you can see the hat and another photo from Harajuku here: http://www.thefedoralounge.com/showthread.php?t=25094&highlight=Who+needs+a+riboon Please ignore my terrible spelling...

    Extras Casting for Dillinger Film

Philo Casting F.Y.I. The information I posted matches a flier I saw posted in Fizz. I looked at the Web site mentioned, and while it mentions the movie, I couldn't quite get it to load fully. Stil, given Fizz hosts a swing night every Monday, it seems a logical place to look for...

    Extras Casting for Dillinger Film

Dear folks, I found this information about Extras Casting for the Dillinger Film with Johnny Depp. Alas, I am too tall for what they are looking for, but I thought I would post this information here for anyone who might be interested. The Universal feature film "Public Enemies" directed...

What happened to growing your own chow?

Don't worry. It was e. coli -- which is much more survivable than Ebola. http://www.cdc.gov/nczved/ It would still be pretty unpleasant, though.

What happened to growing your own chow?

I have had some luck getting pepper seeds to grow from the ones I have bought from the store. But I know what you mean about wanting the heirloom seeds. Some folks on the lounge have mentioned this before, I think, but a lot of enginering to make food look good has pulled the flavor right out of it.

What happened to growing your own chow?

Brad, are you growing those tomatoes in pots or do you have a yard of some kind with your apartment? Any tips on how to get tomatoes to grow in pots?
