Thanks! That helps a bunch. Those look like thick leathers which surprises me for some reason, always thinking goat is thinner. Do you happen to remember the thickness?
That style is also very similar to my Vanson Oxford, which I love.
Is the first jacket posted an olive colour, or is that...
Yeah, I agree. The 5* prices are so damn compelling but I realise its a bit of a crap shoot. Design is one thing, but if the leather doesn't work, then the rest doesn't matter much. To me anyway.
Hello, I was wondering if you got around to working with 5* on this type of design? I've been thinking of the same and have discussed with Shawn, a combination of his Cossack but with a different collar and buttons like the pic attached. He says he can do it but I want HH and it's not available...
OP, this is what I was referring to in my previous post. They've reintroduced it.

I bought my vest from an Aero dealer, Thurston Bros in Seattle. I agree, these buttons aren't up to the quality of the vest. I'll give Thurston a shout. I know they've sold a few. A marine style, vintage looking dark brass button would be the right way for Aero to address this.
Did you buy your...
I have this vest and one of my buttons came apart yesterday. I hadn't worn in the rain either. The leather came apart from the backing material. I've fixed that button with some glue but now that I see how its constructed, I know its a matter of time before the others come apart. A brass button...
Me and my Shackleton in dark seal Vicenza horsehide, brown cotton drill lining, size 42. I ordered through Carrie at Thurston Bros and she nailed the fit. I wasn't sure how much use I would get out of it, or it's versatility, but I am wearing it almost everyday, as outerwear or under a light...
Bravestar Selvedge do make a heavy denim shirt....I have one. It's currently out of production, but I am sure it will be reissued again. Keep an eye on their website or give them a shout.
I tightened up the pinch up a bit and attempted to add a dimple in the crown....if that’s what it’s called. I’m finding the dimple is the most difficult part of the bash. I’ll stop fiddling with it now and wear it.
Thank-you, and thanks again for this thread. I’ve since tightened up the pinch a bit.... and would like the brim to flatten out a bit. Any advice how best to?
First post here.... just received my Campdraft Deluxe from hatsdirect yesterday. This is my first serious hat (I’ve got scores of hats but all knockabouts) and this is my first time bashing an open crown. I tried the cattleman initially but the hat seemed to want a diamond!
It’s not perfect but...
I'm torn between the Speed Demon and the PJ27 (and the J23 sneaks in for a view now and again too). If the Speed Demon had a removable belt then I'd have my decision; once I lose ten lbs I won't have any excuse to delay my order.
This will be a pure riding jacket for me.
First time poster here:
Been eyeing this jacket up, and am wondering if LW fit true to size. I am a 44" (45"expanded) chest, 34" length arms and 35" waist. I don't want to order a 46" and have it fit sloppy. For my last jacket, a Harley FXRG, I went with LG and it's just too tight around my arms...
