OP, You mentioned "Carrie" in your posting, is she a "Aero" employee? I've been looking at the "Teamster" and would rather order direct from Scotland as there seems to be a benefit on pricing given the exchange rates. I'm just not sure about fit giving the sometime European sizing differences...
I wore the Artcraft, Art-Bilt, Rimway, 1/2 Octagon for over 30 years and was very happy with them. I have also heard Shuron's version is very nice also. I believe they're both still available presently. IMO, they're actually safer than the older models due to the advent of poly lens. I found...
The black welted edges I referred to are along the tongue opening along both sides, the rough tongue surface are IMO unappealing also. While I agree the B appears to be available initially, when clicking on sizing, the B isn't highlighted in gray, thus I assumed it wasn't available. While I...
Thanks for sharing, although while I'm sure it's a decent boot, It doesn't appear to be available in a narrow width(B) and I'm not enthusiastic about imported leather. The sale price is good although I don't care for the black welted leather edges.
Thanks regardless.

Thanks very much for sharing this. I wear a 10.5 and finding a boot in a narrow is difficult to say the least. The Byron is available in sizes other than the typical "D" width which is appealing.
I really wanted to go to a Dainite sole though and the Byron isn't available with this. I'm also not...
I'm looking at the Rancourt Byron Boot in black although need some feedback on the company before taking the plunge. Anyone have experiences they would like to share? Fit, durability, customer service, etc. Here's the boot in question...
As a OP update, I may have found a replacement. "Union Made Shop" has a USA made, 12oz Duck jacket w/ blanket lining at a realistic price. It resembles the Carhartt Chore coat very closely. I've shot them a request for more information and pics, I'll see where it goes although it looks...
As a thread refresher, I caught LGG on the SB 1/2 time event tonight and she was fantastic. I never focused on her music before although she certainly provides a seriously, well done performance. Classy act.

While the Carhartt 12oz.Duck material has certainly proven it's worth, A chore coat in leather would certainly fill the bill. I've spotted quite a few at quality suppliers I like although the price is holding me back. That and lack of tough guy persona.....and flying blood.

Thanks for the information and tips. I'm in hopes of acquiring one of their Classic Harrington Jackets with the Grenfell cloth in a normal cut, minus the waterproofing chemicals used in Harrington G9 designs I've seen at other retailers.

Thanks for the reply, I've also noticed this. Since I'm in the US, I felt my best bet for purchasing would be off their Web store. It seems to be a upper end site and product line, I'm surprised I have not heard back from them. It's a bit disheartening that you've never heard of the brand and...
I'm very interested in making a purchase from Grenfell in the UK, I provided a completed form, supplied all information and asked a few technical questions about the jacket I wish to purchase.
No reply. When I sent the completed form, I was told it was sent and I would receive a reply in 48...
I've been looking for a replacement with no real success and currently looking at the used market. I'm getting close although at this point, no cigar. Fortunately our weather so far this winter has either been unseasonably warm or cold. My Bemidji and Carhartt Detroit coats have the bases...
I fully understand your statement and agree. That said, the use of my Chore coat when doing a (5) minute caulking job was nothing less than a brain fart on my part. Thinking I was taking the correct protective measures by using a knee pad to kneel on and wearing an old pair of jeans plus...
I'm currently looking at the ArtCraft, Art-Bilt, Rimway frame w/ the Oval #2" lens and skull temples, I've wore Rimways before although not with these lens. Anyone have a snapshot of a mug w/ these on or their experiences?
Thanks, G.
