Did you try JJ's Hat Center in NYC? They're open currently in spite of the COVID-19 disaster. On second thought...I dunno...that could be risky sending your hat to NYC...might pick up a rider on the way home. -

Oh most definitely!! I found something that might work though. Painting the design onto the hat with a solution of diluted "Ammonium Chloride" and then hitting it with a heat gun! Turns the painted pattern into what appears as burned in without applying fire! The only thing I'd be worried about... -

Serious about a straw Stetson Stratoliner
I soaked my palm leaf straw hat and stretched mine slightly with my modified hat-jack....Just enough to reshape it from circular to my preferred Long-Oval head shape.
