I only have one leather jacket that I wear zipped - an Aero LHB. I can zip all of them, but I never zip the lighter weight leather jackets (cafe racer, half belt, Type I). I guess I would zip them if I rode a motorcycle, but I don't and feel they look (and feel) a lot cooler unzipped.
I had one of these in a size 42 (I'm usually a 40). It fit great everywhere except the elbow/forearm area which was too tight. I assumed this was the way they all fit, but your arms are quite a bit bigger than mine - and the sleeves don't appear tight in your pics.
These are nice with thick leather. I had a 40, but needed a 42 - I felt it was a slim fit.
You might want to work on that chest measurement. It's clearly more than 18 inches across. I would expect at least 22 inches for pit to pit.
I refunded a buyer today after seeing how expensive it was to ship to Glasgow. I got an accetable "quote" yesterday from the USPS but when I went to ship today, the true price was much higher - $85-90 USD. For a $800 jacket, that might be acceptable, but this was a cheaper purchase. No problem...
