Same old Disney ‘Robin Hood’. With a multi-chambered Amethyst geode from Brazil, and a bud from Phoenix.

How do folks react to your hat wearing?

Purely unintentional, but I do look better that way. We have some seriously bright lights to bring out the sparkle on the various mineral specimens for sale. Why it didn’t wash out the hat and vest, I dunno. Perhaps the pure white beard had some effect.

How do folks react to your hat wearing?

Invisible man sez, I’ve been wearing several different hats at the Gem Show in Tucson, and get a couple of ‘nice hat’ a day. But the black Filson wool vest is winning about 3 to one.

    Pre 1940s dress hats

C D Klump, Philadelphia, latest info I can find is from The American Hatter 1915, when he was selling his machinery. No markings on the sweatband, which appears to have been replaced a long time ago. I’ve had the hat for 50 years.

Good and thick Premier Stratoliner in sage. Notice frozen rain chain. Selected these to take on a extended road trip/working vacation. On top a 40’s Disney Robin Hood. Bottom, all Stetsons. Hemp Strat in sage, 50’s Stratoliner, and a 60’s Royal, which is slightly stingy at 2 1/4”. Might...

    The School of Hard Knox

Another 20 to the thread. This is in super condition and has the 50’s tag. Interesting to me, the crown height says 4 1/8 and the hat is 5 1/8 open. Wondering if they measured the creased height, used up old tags around the time of the label change, or just a typo.

Thanks, I forgot to mention it’s fine condition. Just some slight oxidation at the ferrule. A bit of nail polish will stop that.

    Pocket Knife

Just found this cool thread, so I’ll throw in two. The Kershaw, assisted opening 3” tanto blade, is always clipped in my front pocket. It’s so easy, useful and inexpensive (I have a couple of new ones for backup in case they cease production). The Koji Hara, a renown Japanese maker, is a...
