Very Interesting. You don't see many "Zip" branded zippers in Canada; it's usually a Lightening. The other thing that I find interesting is that yours has a distinctly 50s cut with the action back and overall feel while the other 2 examples here are 40s Half-belts. They all have more of a Moto...
I bought this 2022 Horsehide Langlitz a few weeks ago. When it first arrived it appeared brand new, and I don’t know what it was, but I didn’t love it.
A few weeks later, and some pretty rough treatment, and we’re beginning to understand each other.
I’ve never had a new leather jacket; I’ve...
I’ve actually just noticed that this one is Labelled both “Lightening” and “Canada”, which I haven’t seen.
I LOVE yours….plaid is great, but Navy/Black wool is my favourite for sure.
Thanks @KBlake! It's an early 10 button USN issue with a Brooklyn Naval Factory tag. I had the shoulders and sleeves tailored to make the silhouette a bit less boxy. The construction of the early USN coats is crazy. Very high quality jacket.
There’s a jacket that I really want in Minneapolis, but the seller is a classic cash only, no shipper.
I’ve got $100 USD for you if you’ll snag this thing for me and mail it my way (I’ll pay for the shipping too obviously)
Cheers,
M.
Swing and a miss for me. I’ve been shrinking and am now a confirmed 40.
This one has all the bells and whistles. Crown zipper, leather lined pockets, green label. Dated 2022
Measures a pure 42:
P2P: 22.5’
Hem: 19.5’
Sleeves 25.5’
Shoulders 19.5’
Back 25’
The horsehide option alone for this...
FIND: early 50's MW by CSC in HH. MINT 46.

Cheers man.
I have to admit that I have geeked out pretty hard on this company. I've owned 3, bought one for my wife, and have one on the way. All the ones I've had were vintage, and the only vintage leather jacket that I feel good about wearing on my motorcycle. The fact that they have...
So this is what I know:
Langlitz made Jackets with Green labels until 1956. Many if not most of them were in Horse. They switched to the white label in 1956, but continued to make them in horse, until moving mainly to cow and goat in the later 60s and beyond.
I've never seen a Langlitz jacket...
Super quick fit pic before work.
Had some questions about the 23 “ P2P…..it’s really closer to 22/22.5, but you get 23” when you stretch the tape at the corner of the footballs. I would say this jacket fits a 42 all day.
