    Vanson! Vanson! Vanson!

I called Vanson last week and was told 3 months for a 9D if I placed an order. If I waited for stock to replenish then 6 months. Carrie at TB told me 3-6 months, 6 being at the very most. I’m working on a custom black Oxford. Haven’t decided on the leather yet, but likely comp weight.

    Vanson Raid Fit

Thanks for that. Exactly what my wife said. At least I can layer with this. I like breaking a jacket in and seeing those arm creases develop. Not sure that will happen with this one. Oh well, stack up the weights on the curl bar!

    Vanson Raid Fit

This is a Raid alright, and cut big. P2P at 24.25, and sleeves too wide. I called Vanson and they said it can be altered. I’m nervous about that but I suppose they’d do a good job. The jacket is like new, never been worn.

    Vanson Raid Fit

Maybe you’d like the one I bought. The arms are definitely stove pipe, maybe heavy crude pipe. I keep measuring the jacket hoping it shrinks, but it doesn’t. It’s too bad because it’s a beaut and what I believe to be old school comp weight.

WTB: Vanson CHP, Highwayman or Model E in 44

Did you pick that up on Etsy from Montreal? I was told an E from the early 80’s. I had it in my basket for a day or two then poof, it was gone!

Is that an E or C2? Can’t see the side laces.

Vanson Highwayman Model E Size 42

I think that’s how Vanson do it but I’m not 100% sure. Lots of others on the forum will know….hopefully they’ll weigh in. A Vanson dealer publish this on their website, it might help.

Vanson Highwayman Model E Size 42

I’m no expert on measuring jackets but I think the jacket is so damn thick it’s probably best to wrap that tape all the way around and see how it measures up. Vanson says 42 with 5” of ease equaling 47”. I bet you’d be close to that. It’s a helluva deal for a virtually new E.

The P2P pic you posted wasn’t positioned right, made it look like it it was 19.5. Take another crack at it, flatten the jacket as best you can and measure outside to outside right at the bottom of the arm hole if that makes sense. I’d think it would be 22.5?

Yes it’s a minimalist cross-zip. No epaulets, no coin pocket, no slash pocket…just two zip hand warmer pockets. Your E looks great!

There is a nice looking, older, Vanson CHP on the bay right now. Size 44. Reasonably priced too

    Vanson model E 44”

A dozen?!? Unreal! Those measurements look pretty damn good for me. Maybe the P2P should be a bit less but close, and with the quilted lining a bit better. Shoulders, back and sleeves spot on. Thanks!

    Vanson model E 44”

@ton312 did you ever measure up your model E P2P, shoulders, arms etc? Wondering if an older one with the padded lining in 44 would fit me. Thanks

Wesco 9.5 e waxed olive engineers boots

Yep, that helps. I find the toe box is restrictive in my Lou’s. Not so much the length but that heavy HH pushing down on my big toe. Let me think on it.
