I have my Camptown with an Indy bash and I wear mine with a Wested leather jacket. I never get a second glance. I think in the area I live in most folks see it as a cowboy hat and those are quite common out here. Even in the more metropolitan areas nobody seems to be phased by my choice of hats...
When done with the Indy bash you should get a crown height of anywhere from 4 1/4" to 5 1/2" depending on how deeply you go with the center crease.
If you go with this guy's instructions on cutting the brim and bashing the crown you shouldn't have any problems with the crown height or the...
The Amish hat sure looks like a basic "Boss of the Plains" hat. It was originally put out by Stetson.

Here's a fancier version put out by Rand's Hats

Then they were popularized as of late for the Single...
If you're worried how a Fed will look when bashed take a look at PrarieJones' threads on bashing a Fed over at COW. He has a great wide range of pictures of him wearing Feds and they look great. Check out the pictures he has here:

Look at it this way. She couldn't even afford to buy an apple with no mony in pocket, how could she afford makeup? So it stands to reason that the desheveled hair and lack of makeup would fit the time. I think Jackson got that detail right. Look at the candid no-portrate photographs of people...

Dash & Lilly..
There was a movie made about Dashiell Hammett & Lillian Hellman back in 1999.

Sam Sheppard played Dashiell and I thought did a pretty good job of it. So it stands to reason that he could also do a pretty good Sam Spade to boot.
Cheers...
I'm not too sure about this one. Visually it's going to be pleasing with the modern FX stuff which can be over done sometimes. Maybe it's one saving grace will be Kevin Spacey as Lex Luthor. I think he'll be carrying this rendition of the Superman saga.
Now the one I'm really looking forward to...
I got a box set of Bing Crosby music. 1930's through the 50's. Suppose at least the music might count as vintage. Original recordings remastered. They sound great!
Cheers!

Thank you sir, that is what I thought. So Cinderella Man got that street scene more accurate. I noticed a lot of similarities between the two street scenes, like the AUTOMAT for instance.
Cheers!
