The temp has shot all the way up to 20 from the, what I would characterize as fairly crisp, 12 degrees that it was when I got up. Penney's Marathon

I guess I need to do...
Thanks D. It was made by/for Juster Bros of Mpls, I believe in the early '50s. There is a very similar one for sale on craigslist in St Paul

It has a grey mouton collar and appears to have a quilted...
Thanks Serge. I am really liking this hat. The coat is a relatively light gabardine, but has an alpaca pile lining and that collar, so it is nice and warm, but not terribly heavy. It is one of my favorites for windy weather.

It was a great role and a great series. Truly did inspire my style and those heavy country clothes are the gold I seek. Sad to hear about Sean Hughes. I think it was just a couple of months ago that I rewatched the Last Detective series.
Michael
No, no, it's Tristan Farnon from All Creatures Great and Small. Inspired me with his fair isle sweater vests and heavy tweed and flannel jackets. Or was he the Last Detective?

Thanks Red. 'Tis the season of overcoats. You've been putting on some very nice hats of late. I like that modern sage Strat you are wearing today. A lot. Great colors.
Thanks Red, but I'm afraid that isn't the case. I've left some before to stew over whether I wanted them or not and they...
Winter has struck. Mix of rain and snow this morning with winds gusting to 40 mph. Dang. Dobbs Hanover Square stays on my head in the yard. Not so sure it will be the proper choice when I get out to brave the wind in the open

Yes, it is interesting. To my poor eyes it more or less appears white and black, but when you get up close the black is actually a mix of grey and green and a sort of plummy brown. Doing my own tailoring is something I wish I did, but have so far proved to lazy to do. Ha ha. Fortunately...
Thanks D. Can't tell you much about the coat. It has two labels, one is Excelsior -London, Paris, New York, and the other is jean d'albe - Paris. My Google-fu doesn't produce anything on either one. Made in France of 100% wool. It is an interesting tweed and also has some unusual...

It got so warm out that I was a bit overdressed for the conditions. Sounds like I won't have to worry about...
Ha ha, you've got my address Bob. Feel free to stop by anytime.
Thanks Karl. Rates as a score in my book too, but most anything hat or cap shaped rates a score in my book.

Warmed up nicely this afternoon so I got out for a bike ride. Wearing a version of the Stormy Kromer.

Riding downtown against the hurricane force wind wasn't much fun, but my favorite thrift rewarded me with this,

Ha ha, no. But it was made in France which may be closer to he than me. If I were going to steal something steur's I'm pretty sure it would be a hat, or five, since he seems about the same size as me.
Thanks,
Michael
Thanks Red. And great looking Gannon yesterday and today's Mossant is super too.
I like the looks of the Hanover Square. Nice to see one on someone else's head, because I've become sort of immune to knowing what a hat looks like on my own head. I'll probably be wearing mine tomorrow.
Michael
