Caps have a lot to recommend them, particularly the kind with earflaps. Only an hour to tie the bowtie? I'm still trying to get the first knot I'm satisfied with. Ha ha.

Hang in there, it's worth waiting for.
I'll probably be wearing this more often now that it's cold out. Will try to get some more photos of it next time. I'm really liking long hairs myself, but I've only run across two of them so far.
Thanks all,
Michael

But as long as the wind keeps holding off I may have talked myself into a bike ride. And then I will be wearing my toupee cap

Thanks D. I agree.
Thanks Cindy. 7 1/2LO might take awhile to find. Good luck on your search in any case. I feel very lucky that this one fell into my hands.
Thanks all,

With the wind gusting above 25 mph I think I will have to revert to a cap when I go out and about this...
Thanks Richard. That was a nice looking Campbell you were wearing today. I don't have any of those, but I did handle one at an auction once and it was a quality piece of felt. Not my size unfortunately.
Michael
Thanks DD. I think your Ft Worth is the only example of that model I've seen and I have to say it's a stellar hat. Great shape and proportion.
Sorry to disappoint, but they are just plain Bass suede bucks. I was actually contemplating some chukkas this morning, but decided I liked the color...
Thanks Harv. The jacket is a Stanley Blacker sack coat out of sometime in the 1970s I guess. The navy Weis you are wearing today is a most excellent looking hat. Looked like a nice peacoat paired with it.
Michael
A somewhat longer piece of leather than the jacket I found yesterday,

No they aren't lined. I do wear long johns most of the time in the winter. Although I keep my rooms cold, I'm not altogether that fond of being chilled myself. So I tend to dress quite warmly indoors and out.
Micahel
Yes, I find them interesting. I found an identical pair on ebay or etsy, forgot to mark it, that were claimed to be 1960s USAF flight boots. I also found quite a few photos of WWII era flight boots that were not completely different, though different in some details. I'm still searching for...
Great hat and jacket D. That Golden Pheasant line is some pretty decent velour. I need to pull my one example out one of these days and give it a wearing again.
Michael
Photos can be deceiving Red. It was stiff as cardboard. I put some conditioner on it and it's softening up a bit now. Might turn into a good accompaniment for a hat.

The Dobbs Hanover Square already gave it a try.
Thanks,
