If you do try it on, please take some photos with it on. Seems in 5 pages of conversation, there has only still been one shot off thier website of someone wearing this jacket. I have a 36" waist, generally size 44" chest. It's a $1200 USD jacket. So no small change there. Seems like it...
Been doing this for some time now. Get a cheap ebay DSLR from the mid-2000's that works on SD cards, keep it mounted on it, move it around. Easier to use than a cell phone, and can set the resolution to a lower MP so it loads right in on FL. I use a Nikon D60, the Tripod, which is a ProMaster...
Yes, that was part of what drew me to it. It had a little bit of the Knight Rider vibe to it. I believe most of these '80's Bermans/Wilson leathers were "painted" leather. They were typically that shiny black, a fairly shiny burgundy, or a somewhat dull gray color. Hey it was the 80's! :)
Great Jacket, great boots, and an even nicer Triumph! Huge fan of these classic, yet modern Cafe Racers and your entire outfit goes great with it. May just have to look into one someday... :)
My first jacket I owned less than a week, as a Junior in High School. How? I was "encouraged" to give it back by my family. I bought it for $20 and I was asked to give it back and not accept a return of my money.
Here it is, an '80's Wilsons Leather with "V" shaped details in all it's glory...
Welcome, and congrats on the purchase. Don't worry, being on this site you will Never be tempted to purchase another leather jacket. The Schott you purchased will not require any treatment for a substantial amount of time. I agree Pecards or more recently found through a lady...
Yes I agree it looks nice.
But a walk down Michigan Ave with those chaps on, even after stepping off your bike...well, that would indeed be "Character building." ::eek:
^^ Late to the party on Tonys new "insane" weight TRD jacket. Looks nice, and a lot nicer than it did with all the extra's, plus you lightened it some. Why not stop by Horween themselves since you are not terribly far away and see what they say about getting that sanded hide back in business...
?????
Here is a good resource for selecting leathers - from a bootmaker very focused upon custom and specialty boots. Why would "Quite thick leather" be an issue on a motorcycle if you are looking for protection?
Thanks, yes I noticed it looking at a different jacket on that site. Maybe it's just the photography, but I just think it looks amazing! The liner really adds to it as well. Do you all have much of a jacket season there in your country? I would suspect it's rather warm most of the time?
That's a beauty Mr. Frown. Glad to see you not frowning as you zipped it up!
I agree that "stiffened" lower back panel looks a bit odd in the still photo, but when you move around in it, it should work out well. Does it actually give some back support (I think that was the original intent.)...
