Welcome Bruno!
Heck, I took one of my Stetson cowboy hats that I didn't wear anymore anhad it converted into a teardrop fedora. I plan on doing the same thing to my Resistol in the near future. It's rather enjoyable to take a hat that hasn't been worn in ages and convert it into something you...
The hat I'm wearing in the picture is my Stetson Whippet. It's a light silver tan now but under the ribbon where is hadn't faded by the sun is a grey with a slight pink tone to it. The sweat band was all rotted out. The e-bay pictures showed some wear to the sweat, and when I got it in the mail...
It's no great picture but here is one.
It's my daily wearer these days.
Here is a before shot. The photo actually makes it look better than it was.
Art did a marvelous job with it to boot. I can't sing his praises enough.
Cheers!

Door,
Don't lose hope! It took me some time and very diligent searches to find what I was looking for. This forum was a huge help in finding what I wanted as well. Never be afraid to get a beater as well. If the felt is in good shape and the fit is close that's all you will need for a good...
I think I may have found what they are currently called. It is either a Fiddler Cap, a Euro Cap or a Spitfire Cap. I have seen a few that are interesting at places like Hats in the Belfry & Village Hat Shop, but I think I'll keep searching fot that just right one. A mix of wool with a leather...
Hello Folks,
This may have been covered before but can't seem to find any info on this particular cap. I've seen it in photos in books about WWII where either French, German, Polish, Russian & even Greeks are wearing this hat. Molstly civilians though. It looks similar to a Greek fishermans...
I had to make do
I know my impression isn't spot on but this was a bit of a rush job. I had to use my Marine Corps manual (yes I still have mine from the 80's) for collar devise placement. So they were more in line with my E-5 stripes than anything else. Sorry gents.;) Also. I'm missing my...
Crusher Cap Images
Sorry the images are a tad late. But like they say, better late than never. These were taken on Halloween. The crusher cap came from the very kind offerings of silhouette53. It's a Lancaster. The fit is perfect and it feels very natural to wear. The shirt is from What Price...
The Latin Duel
Since we are slinging Latin about, I'll put my two denarius in.
"In vino veritas.
Age quod agis.
Credat Judaeus Apella, non ego.
Iuventus stultorum magister.
In pace requiescat."
Thanks again on the heads-up & images.
Cheers!

In the image below from the movie Pearl Harbor there is a patch on Josh Hartnett's jacket. Does anyone have an idea of what the fighter group or squadron is for that patch? Also would you have a better image of the patch?
It's also on the jacket of the actor on the right in this image...
It has finally gotten cold enough here on the Central Coast area that I may need the F-1 "Blue Bunny" heated suit under the clothes in the mornings.;)
Ok, maybe the F-2 heated coat under the Wested Raider just to take the chill off.
Cheers!

I went with the Better Customer Service...
Well after much consideration I think I will go with the U.S. Authentic A-2.
Shaul Dover has been Johnny-on-the-spot with all of my e-mails and has answered all of my questions (and there were a lot) both great & small. There was no initial response...
