Thanks Stefan! Of the two that I own, one is French made, no manufacturing info on the other. I have seen one up for auction that was made in Italy. Wherever they are made, I would imagine that Motsch would sell only the best of what was available. -

If you squint real hard and poke yourself in the eye you might see a dot between the 7 and the 5. Poke the other eye and you might see "Whippet" too. :) -

It took some trial and error to find the right product. I also tried thick paper strips with some Elmer's, with limited success. Anything with glue that doesn't dry is a no-go. Only took me once cleaning the gunk off my sewing machine to figure that one out! :) -

For sweatband seams I have found that a strong paper tape with a water soluble adhesive works well (I found an old roll of reinforced brown paper packaging tape at a thrift store, kraft paper tape would probably work too). You want the kind with the glue you have to moisten before use. This... -

Way back when I was still messing around with woolies and dynafelts I found a Knox Challenger at a thrift store. I think HCA may have used the model name with more than one of their brands. The Knox was, to the best of my recollection, a later 60's fur felt stingy brim with nothing too... -

G. H. Bass & Co. sells a wool fedora, although it seems to not be available now. I found it googling G. H. Bass wool hat. They call it a wool brim Panama on the website. Maybe that's the one? -
