I love the Fed IV!!
My advice is go with Moonstone. It is one versatile color. From all comments I've read, Carbon Grey is very dark. I have Moonstone in my customized Fed4 as well as a Campdraft Deluxe = one color that I don't mind having in multiple styles... -

This retraction feature is a good point. I'm not sure posting a bid out in the open has the effect some are reading into it. If you don't know snipers are waiting on every listing that you are interested in, then you're not paying much attention...Max bid is max bid or it's not...JMHO -

Rodney Ammons Custom Ostrich Cowboy Boots size 9-1/2 D
Thanks Mike. I have a pair of Justin Super Ropers in smooth ostrich that look so similar in shape to these, almost same color too. I have boots from 9 to 10D, depending on the maker & the toe. Sounds like these are in my sweet spot.- gtdean48

Akubra Campdraft
Wind trollies tighten around the crown by sliding the button backward, if it is properly looped. No need to stitch or remove. I have 5 CD's & all work the same plus a few vintage that act the same. They are a personal taste thing as well. -

Akubra Campdraft Question
I think Open Roads got stiffer thru the years. I had a pristine vintage one that was every bit as flexible as a new CD. Also, I think that Akubra adjusted the crown height of the CD. I have never seen a vintage OR with a crown over 5 1/2".
