Sharp hat - fits you very well there sir. Glad you have made the transition into jackets as well. We're not quite as crazy in here as everyone else must think we are...or are we? :)
That FQHH is looking great on you, like the contrasting stiching as well.
Edward - I fully get this and the whole Selvedge deal as well. Have to remember these are ~ $35 USD jeans here and there are thousands of actual cowboys who buy these and wear them till they literally fall apart. The color is interesting to me. I think it's sort of it's own trademark. I used...
Couple inexpensive textiles that are great for Fall. Both size Large Men's. Prices include CONUS shipping - just clearing a few things out here...will likely ad to this list shortly. All from pet/smoke free home, clean and ready to wear. Take both of these for $30 shipped!

Now how about a little more :)
Tony's thoughts mirror mine on this topic. Congrats to Schott for this great Customer Service here - did they realize this would get posted to FL and get thier reputation a boost all over the world? :)
That is certianly a beautiful jacket right there! Like the lining and belted combination. It looks like a trail rider but the pockets are differnet. What model is that one?
^^ Sure, I understand. No offense taken (nor implied on my end what so ever). I should have been more clear! :)
So did you decide upon anything as a newer jacket? I do not presently own any Vanson Leathers, however I have owned several both older and quite new in the past. I sold Monitor...
^^ Yeah I forgot to mention Monitor's vest idea. I've (in the past) layed in a motorcycle jacket such as a Harley Basic Skins jacket and then layered over top. It did a great job keeping me warmer. But using it as an outer layer, it cooled off/nearly froze and caused negative thermal...
When it is that cold, all sense of style and appearance go out the window for me. Even wool, which stays warm when wet, is too often too permable by wind. In the Midwest and upper Great Lakes areas, we often get more wind when it's colder such as that. I've lived weeks where it's not above 0F...
The quote you are reffering to, which I wrote back in May was direclty realted to your original post:
"i have had several Vanson leather jackets and some leather pants and vests in the early 90's and i thought they were some of the best leather jackets in the world , so i wanted to order some...
Having owned a size 44 of the same LW J23 with the quilted lining in the past, I found the lining to be rather warm for a leather jacket. Some like this - others not so much. It will certainly keep you warm, that's for sure. It's not "down coat" warm, but more like a "polyfill insulation" level.
Looks great! I think that m/c fit is pretty well spot on. I typically rode with a sweatshirt on anyway, so it would be perfect as it is.
I might enocurage you to get on the Schott forums and ask the tag question. It's a curious thing to me...
