I, unfortunately, have not seen Suchet's take on Poirot. I did catch the Malkovich one and found it poignant and riveting. But I'm so unfamiliar with the character as a whole that I'm not versed enough to comment on fidelity. Thanks for your views and reviews. I look forward to the next one...
"A Murder in Venice" - I'd avoided Branagh's take of Poirot till now because I was so familiar with this first two films. I've seen numerous versions of "Murder on the Orient Express" and "Death on the Nile" is like watching paint dry. However, several folks who's reviews of films I respect...
"Reacher" (season 2) - I was surprised to learn the "Reacher" season 2 had already blasted past season 1's viewership total and was about to lap the field by the 3rd episode. "Reacher" is a easy bit of fluff for people who want their heroes, strong, uncomplicated and stoic. Clint Eastwood with...
George Pal Double Feature:
"When Worlds Collide"
"War of the Worlds"
Both in glorious technicolor. Both frightened the crap out of me as a kid with their depictions of world wide destruction, ravage and ruin!

I saw this in the theatre years ago and reviewed it then. Stalwart documentary, haunting and chilling. Not exactly "holiday fare" but a stunning example of what a director can do when allowed free reign to explore a passion he or she loves dearly!

I'm not one for "conspiracy theories" BUT these TEMU advertising bars seem to be reading my mind!!!??? Save for the ahem, sexy bits, these demons seem to know EXACTLY what images to show to make my upper lip quiver and my hand lurch towards the mouse involuntarily! Models of WWII fighter...
THIS is my fave example of the Dickens' timeless tale. But unfortunately I've been unable to find it anywhere for the last couple of years. Did someone "buy it up" like they did with "It's a Wonderful Life"? Why can't I find this movie anymore!!!???

Funny, I just saw Barbara Stanwyck's LAST film last Saturday night on "Svengoolie". It was called "The Night Walker" . Directed by William Castle and written by Robert Bloch of "Psycho" fame. Believe it or not she was cast opposite her EX-HUSBAND of 13 years earlier Robert Taylor! I found it...
One of my fave's. Some war movies weren't all propaganda, where America knew it was bound to win. This film, along with a few others showed how desperate 1942, 43 was, particularly in the Pacific. Brave men and women facing incredible odds and knowing that they were doomed, but kept fighting...
One final word on the subject of "trouble". My Dad lived to about 91 or 92 (when he died we found he had multiple Birth Certificates all with different names and ages). He would never talk to me about "life" except when drunk and melancholy. He told me:
"Boy, ain't no need to go lookin' for...
Dagnabit PC! Stop spilling my secrets in public! I had a long time secretary who said I scared her to death when I first started working. When I was about to retire she came to me and said:
"When I first saw you I thought you were the meanest thing walking on two legs! Only to find out that...
Yeah, I love that A1, the sleeves are a bit short but it feels like butter and drapes like a second skin. Capeskin's a bit fragile so I only wear her in the late Spring and early Fall.

I've two GW''s one bought second hand from a Lounger who either out grew it or shrank out of it. With my weight loss it now fits me perfectly. It's an A2 the pattern of which I'd have to check. Other than a busted zipper it's served me well for about a decade. Mother GW is an ANJ-4 I had made...
I enjoyed it immensely. See my review in the Movie section here. As far as I'm concerned best Godzilla film since 1954's "Gojira" in the original Japanese.
