Hey everyone!
After several days of cold, overcast, rain and fog...a straw day!
This Panama I built several years ago got the call. And an ironing.
Have a great day!
Thanks Bob!
I was wondering what their quality tier designations were, but hadn't gotten around to looking it up yet! :) I could feel that it was nice felt though.
Too bad it's about a size 6 1/2...
Hey all!
I found this Rand while out thrifting today. Unusual color on a Western.
No liner, tag or sticker. Here's the stamps.
The last pic explains the very small size.
Measures 7 1/4" by 6 1/8". Brim is 3 3/4", the crown 5" at highest point as creased. 206g. The felt is nicer...
Hey all!
Even though it has been raining off and on all day, I was lucky enough to not have had to test the alleged shower-proof-ness of this recently revived Brandon.
I was, however, able to ascertain that it is absolutely NOT windproof. :)
Have a great day!
So maybe my pre-war age estimate is fairly close! :)
Don't know what the felt blend is in this one but it aged very well. Compared with my Brent, it would seem to be the superior quality out of the two.
Yeah, looks pretty close to me. I'm surprised at the quality of felt and the stitching detail if this was, indeed, another MW brand. Possibly same maker but higher quality level for a different client? It is a bit nicer than my Brent.
Thanks Stefan!
It is still a work in progress. I'm considering a new bow, maybe a wider ribbon and bow. And yes, it is nice to be able to see (barely) well enough to play around with needle and thread again. :)
Hey all!
Here"s a refurb project I've been working on.
Almost a year ago I saw this hat on Etsy. Marked only with 'Brandon' and 'Showerproof', it just had something to it that caught my eye and held my attention. Several weeks of wembling later, I bought it. Didn't get pics of it out of the box...
Hey all!
At 2 inches even, the brim of this 1960-ish Cavanagh just qualfies as stingy.
Apparently, stingies two days in a row turns my selfie grimace into a serial killer stare...
Have a great day!
